Special K Posted June 16 Posted June 16 Crazy how the NHL and NBA Finals are mirroring each other: The team with the 2 biggest stars down 3-0 to the teams with the better overall rosters. Down 3-0, Dallas beats Boston by 38 points in game 4.....the biggest loss by a team leading 3-0 in a series in NBA history. Down 3-0, Edmonton beats Florida by 7 goals......tied for the biggest win by a team facing elimination in NHL history....it last happened in 1918!! Crazy stuff!! 2 1 Quote
Tiberius Posted June 16 Posted June 16 I suspect Florida wins the next game, but if they don't, things might get interesting. Was surprised how dominating Edmonton looked yesterday. McDavid passed Gretzky for most assists in a playoff year! Wow! And with time to go. Quote
muppy Posted June 18 Posted June 18 Game 5 hockey fans is tonight. In Florida. Will Edmonton advances or go home losers film at 11 they will be playing with juice after their dominant win so we shall see Quote

Things will get dicey if Oilers pull out a win tonight. Edited June 18 by ExiledInIllinois 2 Quote

muppy Posted June 19 Posted June 19 (edited) this game is not really close but the Panthers keep battling back. 4-2 Edmonton 7 minutes left 2nd period. They're still fighting but McDavid is showing up and OUT tonight Edited June 19 by muppy Quote
muppy Posted June 19 Posted June 19 Game 6 upcoming. The Panthers are beaten 5-3 and the home fans go home with their plastic rats unnecessary. Edmonton wins 2 straight. I give them props. I thought this series might have ended at 4. NOPE you you in Edmonton. Quote

I said to my cuz that while it sure looked like they were toast it's hockey and the series could definitely tilt the other way. Happy to see them turn things around. I could not care less who wins the series but I would like to see it go 7. 2 Quote
muppy Posted June 21 Posted June 21 OH YES I am watching the game tonight. Don't be late it is gonna be LIT Panthers @ Edmonton THE NHL Stanley Cup playoffs. Jet lag? bah humbug. BE THERE OR BE SQUARE I'm actually excited for tonight DUH lol Quote
Gregg Posted June 21 Posted June 21 Have to give the Oilers a lot of credit. When it was 3-0, I thought maybe this goes 5. I never thought we would have a game 6. Good chance we could get a game 7. McDavid has been on fire these past 2 games. 1 1 Quote
Gregg Posted June 21 Posted June 21 NHL Public Relations on X: "No team in the past 78 years has overcome a 3-0 series deficit to force Game 7 in the Final. No team has ever defeated the Oilers in Edmonton to lift the #StanleyCup. One of those things will change tonight. https://t.co/nYZr4bXevN" / X 1 1 Quote

BillsFan4 Posted June 22 Posted June 22 If this gets to game 7 my money is on McDavid to finish what he started. It would be so exciting to see this series go to game 7. At this point I want to see it just to see what McDavid will do. lol. He’s been super human. It’s been crazy to watch (not as much tonight as the previous 2 games but he’s still been great tonight too). I thought this series was over when the panthers went up 3-0. 1 1 Quote
