This is obviously gross and people should stand up against it, but the people who it affects overwhelmingly vote for the party that’s doing this to them. Critics quickly pointed out that those updates, which the Biden administration said were supposed to provide more protections for LGBTQ students, could be used to protect trans-identifying males competing on women’s sports teams. This move allowed biological males to play women's sports and gave them access to scholarships intended for women, as well as women's locker rooms, private spaces, and single-sex housing. A federal judge in Texas, who called Biden's effort an "unlawful action," just shut that move down. Federal Court Halts Biden Administration's Operation of Title IX Rule President Joe Biden's rewrite of Title IX arrived in April, replacing "sex" with "gender identity." The Independent Women's Forum immediately filed a lawsuit, and the governors of Mississippi and Arkansas issued executive orders defying the change.
