No Coleman and no S in the 1st. I am on the 1st round picks have to be QB, WR or Edge train.

More than 1/3 of his season yardage totals and TD's came in 2 games, LSU and against Syracuse. He played in 10 others to the tune of 396 yards and 7 TD's.

I think his skill set translates better to the NFL where he won't be stuck with a college QB that never throws with anticipation. A WR's job in the NFL is to create leverage that opens up a throwing window. Coleman can create leverage with his pure size + strength, plus more nuance to his route running than he gets credit for.

My own speculation:

28, 128, Spencer Brown to LV for 13

60, 160, 2025 2nd(MIN/HOU), 4th to CAR for 33

13.  R. Odunze / Brian Thomas Jr

33.  Xavier Legette / Troy Franklin

Pros:

2 potential impact WR’s

& we keep our 2025 1st, 2nd, 3rd

Cons:

Spencer Brown is dealt. Potential downgrade at RT.

Because lots of people working in scouting departments and it is an incestuous business. And teams also play the smokescreen bluff and double bluff game with the media.

Yeah that’s my point. Why ever take this seriously. Nobody is ever going to tell you the truth so why ever even read it?

Dolphins: have Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, made an offer to OBJ, and have been linked to Xavier Worthy and Ricky Pearsall in the pre-draft process.

Jets: Have Garrett Wilson and Mike Williams, but might draft Brock Bowers or Rome Odunze

Chiefs: Have Travis Kelce and Rashee Rice, but signed Hollywood Brown and will likely draft a receiver high.

Bengals: Have JaMarr chase and Tee Higgins, may draft an offensive playmaker high.

Bills: ....likely to stay put or trade down and take the 7th or 8th best receiver in the class to pair with Curtis Samuel and Khalil Shakir?

I understand the argument for the "Packers model", but it's hard to see some of the other AFC teams doing all they can to get premium weapons, and then consider the notion of the Bills maybe just being happy with whatever's left at 28. I know no one knows anything yet, and it's too early for this talk, but...Bills fans and everyone else in the football watching world have been talking for three offseasons now about getting Josh more help. If their version of that is to jettison Stefon Diggs and then trade down into the 2nd to draft whoever's left at WR....color me slightly worried that that mission will have been accompished.

Yes... I actually heard the Cover1 guys talking about his technique as well, and likening it to an NBA player dribbling up into a guy's space to create conflict, and then using that leverage to be "open". It won't look like the traditional separation we'd be used to seeing from like a Diggs type player. While Coleman isn't my favorite WR prospect in this draft, I trust what guys like that who spend a lot of time on it are saying about him.

For me the ideal situation would be trade back a few spots and try and add a 3rd round pick and draft Xavier Legette and Tez Walker with the first 2 picks. Then look at the defense and OL with all the other picks.

I am leaning more and more that the Bills should try to trade back into the early 2nd and get back a 3rd rounder. Draft a boundary guy like Legette or roll the dice on a guy like Worthy and grab Tez Walker later.

I am betting we trade 28 to Carllina for 33 and a 3rd.  1st pick of the 2nd round which gives us tons of ammo.

2 2nds, a 3rd and 2 4ths.  A ton can be done to improve this team with that.

And to be fair we beat the crap out of the Dolphins and usually beat the Jets.  We also beat KC in the regular season and it can be argued that if most of our LB's and DB'S weren't in a MASH unit,we best KC this last year in the playoffs.

Just scout and draft the guys that Brady and Josh need, not just names or fan/ media favorites

Coleman is a phenomenal athlete who will have a long career in the NFL...people who don't like him seem to be obsessed with his 40 time, which has been shown to have little correlation with NFL success...He's not my favorite WR prospect, but I would not mourn if the Bills were to take him in round 1 or 2.

I watched my fair share of FSU this year, and do admit that he was a lot of fun to watch.  He was a guy that defenses always had to account for, and I thought he was one of the top WR's of this draft class. But I must admit that he probably scares me the most.  Even before the slow 40 at the combine, one of the big knocks on his scouting report, was lack of separation.  That scares me for any WR transitioning into the NFL where guys only get bigger and faster.  He would be worth the risk, if he somehow drops to the 2nd or 3rd round, but not as a 1st rounder, in my opinion.  I also do agree that the 40 thing is overblown.  Plenty of 4.5 guys that are much better players than 4.3 guys, but there is still a baseline for certain positions, WR being one of them.  Generally speaking, I believe the cutoff for WR's is somewhere in the 4.5-4.55 range.  There's tons of data to support this.  That being said, every once in a while, you get an Antwon Boldin type of exception, who coincidently enough, was also a 4.6 guy from FSU.  I believe he went in the 2nd round, if memory serves me right.

Nacua who is the most popular comparison, I believe ran in the 4.57.

I just read that Coleman hit 21.71mph on the go route...screw all logic, I'm back on the Coleman train.....lol.

Why do people want to trade Brown?  I thought he improved last season and still seems to have potential to continue to improve.  I get it that he is a free agent after next season, but don't we already have enough holes?  I don't think Collins can be counted on to play full-time or to be an adequate replacement for Brown for a full season.

Interesting. I have heard New England really likes JJ and that he very well could be the guy at #3.

Gunner - I read a lot of threads where people say “I heard…”. Just curious if you have a source (not that you need to name it), or would it be more accurate to say “I read”?  Just trying to separate the wheat from the chaff in these threads.

I'd be SHOCKED if one of the top 3 receivers is there at 10 for the Jets and the Bills DONT trade up to snag one of them.  Just like the Chiefs did with us an McDuffie, dont let rival teams take talent that fills a hole on your team.

I have 5 or 6 folks in the draft community I am on DM'ing terms with.

If they trade down and pick up an extra day 2 pick I think he could be part of a double dip.  Coleman paired with Worthy, Franklin or Wilson is more palpable imo.  Coleman could be a fine wr but need to know what he is and is not.  Power slot with some jump ball ability in the redzone.  A traditional X I'm not convinced he is.

Coleman seems riskier than others, so I would steer away (unless they are absolutely convinced he is the bomb) regardless who else the Bills pick.  In the scenario you pose that Coleman is a big slot and jump ball specialist, it hurts because he is competing them for targets with Kincaid, Shakir and Samuel.  I don’t think adding someone else like Worthy or Franklin mitigates that.  In spite of that, the role he seems fit for is too specialized (my opinion) to warrant a 2nd round pick.

If we take Coleman at 28 I’m going to barf. Hes on the do not draft in round 1 list but I’m confident we aren’t taking him. He doesn’t separate, he’s not the best YAC and his hands are suspect. We know Beane has talked about those 3 things many times .

Beane has talked about adding speed and RAC this off-season, Coleman is not that so think this won't happen or at least like you hope it doesn't.
