Wow, 30 whole minutes have passed and @section122hasn't made a pick yet.  I guess he doesn't care about this

😈

😂 I have to do SOME work at work lol.

With the 29th pick the Ravens select JC Latham OT Alabama.

The Ravens already traded their RT and are all of a sudden long in the tooth along the offensive line.  Latham is a mountain of a human at 6'6 and 342 pounds.  We thought about the best available as CB is also a need but are going to play into the team's strength and protect our MVP.

@NewEra and SF are on the clock.

I'm curious.  Were you considering WR?

The 49ers select Tyler Guyton, OT, Oklahoma

We tried to trade up, to no avail, but we’re happy with the raw specimen from OU.  Too busy at work to go into detail.

***Trade Alert***

The Carolina Panthers are sending picks #33, #141, and #142 to the Detroit Lions for pick #29.

With the 29th pick in the TSW 2.0 Mock Draft, the Carolina Panthers select AD Mitchell, WR, Texas.

The Panthers came into this draft with some veteran receivers, but also need to think about the future.  Mitchell falling this far in the draft, and the option of a 5th year, made this trade a no brainer.  The Panthers also could see the next 3 picks being receiver, so we wanted to jump up and get our guy.

Adonai Mitchell is a tall, long, and highly athletic wide receiver prospect.

He has good size for an outside receiver at 6-foot-2, 205 pounds with great athletic traits. Mitchell has the speed to stretch the defense vertically or pick up chunk yardage in run-after-catch situations. He also has the ability to sink his hips and change directions suddenly, allowing him to move like a much smaller receiver.

Mitchell flashes the ability to release efficiently off of the line of scrimmage against man coverage. Likewise, he shows some understanding of how to manipulate his route stem to create space for himself at the catch points. He’ll use a quick jab step to create space or hesitation in the cornerback, or bend his route toward the middle of the field before breaking toward the sideline on deeper out routes.

He also flashes impressive ball skills down the field. Mitchell does a good job of locating and tracking the ball in the air, making solid adjustments to help ease the difficulty of the catch. Likewise, he flashes the ability to be a true “hands” catcher who extends to maximize his catch radius and grabs the ball away from his frame. Mitchell also understands how to use “late” hands, not extending until the last possible instant to prevent defensive backs who haven’t located the ball from making a play.

Mitchell is also a willing blocker for his teammates. He was used as a blocker on the perimeter for off-tackle runs, wide receiver sweeps, and screens. He was also used tight to the offensive line in short-yardage situations. He has enough strength to effectively block most cornerbacks and smaller safeties, as well as the toughness to work to sustain his blocks for as long as possible.

The Baltimore Ravens @section122 are on the clock

I love this pick and move for Carolina. Gets their young QB a guy that has WR1 potential to grow with. Didn't give up too big a price, either. I feel bad for AD because that franchise is a perceived tire fire with a QB that may not be able to see him down field, but it's a good move nonetheless 🤣

No i was thinking about cb there but ultimately decided ot was more important.  After grabbing flowers last year I will be very surprised if the Ravens go wr again in round 1 especially since flowers was a hit.

Wr is certainly in play in round 2 and beyond I just think ol made more sense.

@Alphadawg7Not to rush you, and if you have a trade you're working, no worries.

Just try to remember that Gunner is picking after you and 5 hours behind us.

@GunnerBill better offer me a bounty to trade up one spot then or I am making him wait!  I think next years first will suffice.  Hit me up on pager when youre ready to deal me that first rounder Gunner with 80085 and I will know its on.

I think if any of the 8 tackles or Barton or JPJ are there that is the Ravens pick. Only if all 10 are gone do they consider another spot.

With the the 32nd pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Arizona Cardinals (who are utterly crushing this draft like it was Prom Night) select:  Nate Wiggins, CB, Clemson

We love the blend of elite recovery speed, coverage skills, and overall football IQ that Nate brings to this team.  We were set to take him at 27 and are thrilled to still get him at 32 while adding another 3rd rounder to our draft this year.  His height and arm length, combined with his skills in various coverage schemes, make him a versatile and competitive options who we believe can come in and compete to start right away.  Based on his performance against top tier talent, we believe he has a very high ceiling in the NFL.

Having already added Odunze and now Wiggins, we feel we have really added to the future of both sides of the ball.  And because of our small trade downs, we now have our 2nd in a few picks and 5 picks in the third round and 2 more in the 4th to really help set a great foundation for this new era of Cardinals football.  Also puts us in a great position to move around the draft as well if we feel there is someone we want to go get.

Draft Recap: TRADES

#4 - Trade 4, 138, 162 for 6, 70, 107

#27 - Trade 27 for 32 and 95

Cardinals still have a 2nd at pick 35 and now have 5 picks in the 3rd plus 2 more in the 4th to go with a couple late picks.

#6 - ROME ODUNZE, WR, WASHINGTON

#32 - NATE WIGGINS, CB, CLEMSON

#35 - TBD

@GunnerBilland the Detroit Lions are now on the clock.

With the 33rd pick of the TSW mock draft version 2.0 the Detroit Lions select:

Kool-Aid McKinstry, Corner, Alabama

The Lions roster has very few genuine needs but they are not good enough at corner. Even though Nate Wiggins would have been my BPA if still on the board selecting him here would not be a scheme fit. It would have been very Elam to the Bills. Halfway through the 2022 season the Lions moved to mainly a zone coverage scheme on the backend and have been a significantly better defense since. Wiggins is a man specialist but I am not sold on his fit in a zone scheme and he has short arms that limit his ability to make plays on the ball in off coverage. So I am going for Kool-Aid. I know it is a repeat of what @section122 did in version 1.0 but it just makes most sense, but I also picked up a couple of extra picks in the process.

@section122 and the Patriots are now on the clock.

Nice pick, I like Kool-Aid a lot too...I felt Wiggins was too good for AZ to pass up twice so stuck with him even though I have a feeling Wiggins in the real draft goes before our original pick of 27 where I almost passed up on the trade down to take.

@Alphadawg7 and the cardinals are back on the clock (dang dude leave some picks for the rest of us lol).

With the 34th pick the new england patriots waffled an awful lot on this pick but ultimately settled on Xavier Worthy WR Texas.

I get that ad mitchell looks like a better football player but worthy has produced more over his career.

My favorite trait of Worthys is how he sets up defenders to miss.  Sometimes he changes speed, sometimes jukes but you can tell he understand how to set up the defender and then take advantage of their mistakes.

I wanted to go ot here but the value didn't match the pick.  Then I waffled between McConkey and Worthy.  For all the injury concerns with Worthy, McConkey has actual dealt with them.

With the 35th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Arizona "Draft Crushing" Cardinals select:  Darius Robinson, DT, Missouri

We are excited to bring in someone with the kind of versatility as Darius who can play inside and out on the Edge for us.  He brings a power at the point of attack and an ability to engage and shed blockers which we believe will bring immediate value to his ability to come in and compete early for us.  With his stout ability against the run and his continued growth in diversifying his pass rush moves, we believe he can be an anchor upfront for us for along time and thrilled to steal him here at the top of 2nd round.

Having already added Odunze, Wiggins, and now Robinson  we feel we have really added to the future of both sides of the ball.  And because of our small trade downs, we still have 5 picks in the third round and 2 more in the 4th to use to really set an immediate foundation for the future of Cardinals football.

If we were done here, this would be an A+++...but still most a 2nd round to go and we are sitting on 7 picks through rounds 3 and 4.  So maybe we see each other again soon ;)

Robinson was just announced as a draft attendee. Implies he may be a 1st round pick. You definitely crushed this draft.

Thanks, and I personally think he has a good shot to go second half round 1, but if not early round 2 I am sure.  I still have 5 3rds to throw around if I want to get back into the 2nd.  Just waiting see if there is a must get guy in the right spot that makes realistic sense.
