WR Treylon Burks

Recommended Posts

I would hate giving up pick 200 for him. He just turned 24 and he’s been in a bad passing offense with lackluster QB’s and he’s only two years into his career.

He’s been a bit banged up his first two seasons but not necessarily major injuries (turf toe and a LCL sprain from what I have read) so he’s not damaged goods either.

Big guy with great measurables and productive in college. Maybe a change of scenery will help him. Could do worse for a WR 5/6.

We don't need another reclamation project. We already have Andy Isabella and K.J. Hamler. If Burks were to be cut and we wanted to Practice Squad him like those two, fine. But I'm not giving up anything for him or giving him a 53 man spot without earning it.

1st Round busts at WR don't switch teams and then all of a sudden become a hit. He's Kadarius Toney with less physical skills and ability.

Toney would be awesome if he wasn't such a knucklehead

for the uneducated what exactly is he saying?

I mean...he was asked "do you think people are sleeping on [underestimating] Treylon Burks?", and Hopkins' response, essentially, was "how do I not make a negative soundbite? No".

I guess there are two ways to view that. He either meant it as in "he's bad" or he could've meant it as in "no one is underestimating him, we all believe in him".

Intent is not always easy to discern from written transcriptions of comments. It kind of sounds....not good...to me.

I think how Logic took it (and me too) was that the interviewer was giving him one of those softball questions of "Are they sleeping on Trey" where you expect from answering 101 to be "Oh, yeah, Burks is going to light it up, he's learned the ropes, he's practiced hard all off-season.  I think people will be surprised."

Instead they get "I know I shouldn't say no, so I'll say nien"  Implying what you've seen is what you're getting.  The guy stinks and will continue to stink.

It looks like one of the two are going somewhere.  Even if the guy does stink, if he's your teammate you don't say that.

i also read it as he had nothing good to say, so he didn't want to be overly critical.    i didn't even consider the other option.

thanks. i'm still confused :D

i don't value the average NFL player for their wit or intelligence so i will take it on face value that he has nothing nice he can say about Burks.  Still, for a 5th or 6th - he's worth it.

For what it's worth, I'd also happily trade a 6th or 7th for the guy.

Maybe he’s saying no they aren’t sleeping on him?

But most people would then say that it with the explanation.  And the part about how do I say it without being negative and then being negative

For T Burks, oh god no, don't we have enough underperforming JAGs.  Now, DHop as a backup plan if the others don't come through has possibilities.
