Eastport bills Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Johnson has Diggs’s attitude without the talent. If he doesn’t get targets he sulks and becomes a distraction. If he had any redeeming professional qualities, they wouldn’t have given him away. Quote

He was traded to Carolina (CAR) from Pittsburgh (PIT) with 2024 7th round pick (#240) for Donte Jackson and 2024 6th round pick (#178). Now, Donte may have had some value for the Stillers but he was likely going to be cut in Carolina, and he signed a restructured $6M deal with them after the trade, so he didn't have a TON of value. So maybe without Jackson to dangle, could we have gotten him for a 4th or a 5th and 6th? In hindsight, is that a move you wished we pulled the trigger on, knowing what we know about Diggs now? The late round picks clearly had zero value based on the trades being made. I think it would’ve been a steal 4 Quote

FireChans Posted May 10 Author Posted May 10 (edited) I get it. Lots of folks would rather have a soon to be 25 year old rookie running back over a 27 year old WR with more career receiving yards than our entire group put together. I am eager to see how Ray Davis is used when it’s do or die in the playoffs. My guess? He won’t be out there while Josh runs in circles begging for Mack Hollins to get open. Chalk me up in the, “yes we should’ve” camp. Edited May 10 by FireChans 3 2 1 Quote
dma0034 Posted May 10 Posted May 10 Bills do need a WR to drop catches now that Gabe is gone.... I also think Dionte Johnson is a good WR. His problem is catches 1 Quote

Chalk me up in the, “yes we should’ve” camp. Dude it’s mid-May already. Get off this Dionte thing and start naming other trades/free against we should have gotten. That way if any one of them remotely hits for their team you can “see I told you so” until the cows come home. Tyler Boyd? Robbie Chosen Meta World B Free Peace Anderson? OBJ? Hurry. Matt_In_NH Posted May 10 Posted May 10 From what I see he has a $10M salary plus roster bonus in Caroliina and a $6M dead cap for the Steelers this year. Maybe but I think they are better off getting younger and trying to find a real difference maker on a smaller deal. 1 Quote

GolfandBills Posted May 10 Posted May 10 He’s a good WR. Has some drop issues but he’s one of the better route runners in the league and can run. This just wasn’t the year they could take that money on 1 Quote
2003Contenders Posted May 10 Posted May 10 Even if you like him, the first sentence in the OP's post precludes the Bills from ever having been able to trade for him even if they wanted to: "DJ is $10M on the books..." Quote
