He’s got game breaking RAC. In a way, it reminds me of a skinny Deebo Samuel Shakir, Cooper and Hollins all showed up big time today. Too bad the defense didn’t. 1 Quote
Alphadawg7 Posted December 9, 2024 Author Posted December 9, 2024 I don't know what was more impressive...the TD run or the one he caught at the goal line that was a very difficult catch. As I said in the game day thread...believe it or not, there are still certain posters here who hope we don't sign him to a second contract. 1 Quote

Love his personality, his off-field training with Eric Moulds, his on-field blocking, his catch percentage, and his pinball run-after-catch balance. Just depends on what he's looking for in an extension versus on the open market. Would he come in under the $18M+ AAV market value that's out there now? Hate to ever lose a guy like him. 1 Quote

He’s become a really critical target for Josh and just entering his prime, I think the Bills should be more than willing to prioritize the dollars for him. I’d pay close to $20M annual for him all day, when they’re paying Curtis Samuel almost $10M. It’s been proven that having an outlet like Beasley or Shakir helps Josh take his game to another level. SCBills Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 (edited) Pretty close to just saying priority 1 this offseason is extend Cooper and Shakir, while bringing back Hollins and Ty. With the OL and other existing contracts on the books, that’s basically our entire starting offense plus depth. (I say this thinking Cooper would take a 2 yrs/30M from us) Edited December 9, 2024 by SCBills Quote

Yet another in the line of prediction thread fails for @Alphadawg7. Shakir did indeed hit 100 targets on the season yesterday. His regular season is "probably" over. If so, he fell a whopping 529 yards short of Alpha's whacky off-season math. He's been who we really should have thought he'd be. A really good slot receiver. Excellent RAC guy. Sure hands on short-to-intermediate throws. Not so good further downfield or contested. The yards per catch was going to fall, that wasn't sustainable on a larger sample size from the slot. Might have worn down a bit from regular work and all the RAC wear and tear. Hopefully a week off will re-charge him for the playoffs. 5 2 1 2 Quote
ColoradoBills Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 2023 Bills scored 451 points in 17 games. 2024 Bills scored 506 points in 16 games, so far. 2nd and 3rd stringers will be playing the last game. These are stats that matter to me. Quote
Since1981 Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 Defenses have realized Shakir is the short pass gadget guy. It’s so odd to hit >40 pts three weeks, and not have any huge numbers at any WR. So unusual. 1 Quote

We have one of the most prolific offenses in the history of the NFL with no true #1 WR, no 1,000 receiver and no 1,000 yard rusher. It's unparalleled in NFL history. This essentially would be the NFL version of "total football" pioneered in the 1970's by The Netherlands with Johan Cruyff as their star. Edited December 30, 2024 by Big Turk 1 1 Quote

You know that was the math of what 100 targets would have done the PREVIOUS season and NOT a prediction of this season. It says in my post, all over this board, and in DM between you and I that I had him at 900-1100 yards coming into the season. I wrote it 100 times on this board, you are so pathetic and desperate that I can't decide if its hilarious or sad at this point. I have dunked on you and ate your lunch so many times I can't even keep count anymore. Nothing makes me happier knowing that I live so rent free in your head that you literally lie to try and get over me...you desperately message me privately...you misquote things to say something they don't...and so much more in pure desperation to get over on me even once. This made my morning I mean he turned into a pleasant 800 yard guy to have. In one of the many WR threads I mentioned thinking probably a lot of people thought he’d be in that ballpark but disagreed if it would be a success or a hole for the offense. he’s a nice piece but he’s not a focal point 2 Quote

CouldBe Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 As fan of the Shakir pick in the draft, I have no complaints about the top receiver on the top scoring team with an "everybody eats offence". 2 Quote

The entire Defensive Line is facing a rebuild with numerous DTs facing age and expiring one-year deals. After this season we can revisit the viability of the defensive scheme, available cap space, the in-house contract decisions - Benford, Bernard, Rousseau, in addition to Shakir and Cook coming due after 2025, wouldn’t the Draft be more pragmatic? Danger Mouse Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 Seriously. Who do defences focus on? cooper? Oh okay we’ll go to the other three WRs. Got a plan for the wrs? Ok, we’ll go to our two TEs. oh, focussing on that? We’ll go to our three receiving-capable HBs got a plan for that, ok - meet our qb running 20 yards. got a plan for that? Hey! It’s a 3 HB running game coming your way. 2 2 Quote

Flat out said he's been waiting to be a part of a team like this his whole career. Staying where he likes being and being able to chase a ring may trump a couple million extra he could get from a New Orleans or the Jets.
