Think what you like. Shakir is special with the ball in his hands in the open field. I too agree that he’s special with the ball in his hands. He’s been great after the catch. There are just miles to go to get to what Hines Ward did, consistently for 14 seasons. Quote

If Shakir got hurt and his yac ability took a huge hit then my take on the matter would change. But as it stands, Shakir’s yac skills are better than Hines ward. And it doesn’t matter how long he’s done it or will do. I’m talking about Shakir’s current ability Quote

Being very good after the catch for 91 catches is totally different than being really good after the catch for 1000 catches. Khalil Shakir needs 5-6 more years at this current rate for me to even consider putting him in the conversation with a borderline HOFer with the same skill set. At any rate, I think this speaks to how good Shakir has been and is also terrifying about the sustainability of this level of play: Quote

I made a statement- you disagreed with it. I’m ok with that 👍🏻 2 Quote

Which would still be amazing. Quote
notpolian Posted November 5 Posted November 5 I am late to this thread, and I don't study all 22 or that stuff. I think Shakir has an amazing catch percentage at a respectable volume. I also think he is our best YAC receiver. He tries hard every freaking play. This may be a questionable comp, but Shakir is like Craig Ramsay was back in the day for the Sabres. Not the best player in the league, but my friends and I used to say if you had a team full of Craig Ramsay's, you'd never lose a game. I feel the same way about Shakir. Quote

That’s an interesting one to me. Tate might have been more explosive but feel like Shakir has better contact balance. Tate had a 4 year span where he was really good (averaged over 95 catches and like 1100 yards I think). I also think he was kind of an idiot if memory serves me correctly. Shakir feels like a future captain. If Shakir can be the player of prime Tate with his current attitude/leadership he will be a key piece of the team for many years. 1 Quote
