Alphadawg7 Posted September 11 Author Posted September 11 (edited) MIC"D UP! Debated on starting a new thread or not for this...but figured might as well put it here rather than a new thread. Shakir was mic'd up week 1...and one thing is clear, he has emerged as the leader in the WR room and one of the leaders overall on the team too. Third straight game with a TD too going back to the 2 playoff games last year. He was getting open a lot too on Sunday and flying all over the place as a blocker when he didn't get the ball. The genuine excitement he has for others when they make plays and get the target is awesome to see too. Edited September 11 by Alphadawg7 2 2 Quote

Love how it to that one into the end zone with purpose he looks bigger this year for some reason. Edited September 11 by JP51 2 Quote
26TrapDraw Posted September 12 Posted September 12 So Far so Good. He does this week in week out its 1st team probowl selection 1 Quote
Mr. WEO Posted September 12 Posted September 12 but will he prove his doubters wrong? For example, if he is standing near another receiver who catches a pass, will he also be credited here with the catch? I sure hope so... 2 Quote

And he could have 2 in that KC game had Dawkins held his block a half second longer. Quote

Or Shakir just cleared coverage a split second earlier (he just got momentarily tangled with the DB). Any one of those 3 inches had gone the Bills way and that play was a touchdown. But then Karadius Toney lines up an inch further back in the regular season maybe the Bills never make the playoffs. It is a game of inches. And especially Bills - Chiefs the last four meetings have been one or two plays either way. It's a brutal business some times. 2 1 Quote

That has been the most frustrating part of the Chief playoff losses in 2021 and 2023, especially when you factor in the injuries we had to where maybe it wouldn't have come down to being that close. Does Hill get that long TD end of 4th if Tre White doesn't tear his ACL on thanksgiving? Maybe, maybe not. Does KC still win last year if even one of Milano or Bernard play, let alone both. I mean they attacked our LB's all game long who were led by a guy who was on his couch a few weeks earlier and journeyman level LB at his best anyway. Still, missing some of our best players on defense, we were a play or two away from unseating them. So you get the double frustration of the loss itself and having to take those with some critical players out every time. 1 2 Quote

JakeFrommStateFarm Posted September 12 Posted September 12 I know that most Bills fans don't watch other teams other than the Bills but Diggs caught 2 TDs in his debut for the the Texans. And isn't it remotely possible that Diggs fall off for the Bills was not because of Diggs declining skills but because of the Bills dogchit junior level OCs ? 1 Quote
Success Posted September 12 Posted September 12 That TD run was spectacular. I didn't watch ESPN's "top 10" that night, but I hope it was in there. Good call, OP. Quote

Diggs is/was still a stud, imo, but the offense did improve when Brady took over and we began spreading the ball around to more targets and running the ball more. There's no question we would be a better team if you swapped out Curtis Samuel with Stefon Diggs. Quote

If Diggs dogged it because not enough throws to him it wouldn't; Also Curtis Samuel blocked a lot more than Diggs did. Quote
Alphadawg7 Posted September 13 Author Posted September 13 (edited) 2 games, Shakir 100% catch rate, and some big catches in each game. Love watching him play! And this is with Allen only having 2 attempts until final 2 minutes of first half week 1 and the Bills chewing clock this week for nearly the whole second half. GoBills! We got Jags next Monday…then Balt and Texans. Something tells me we will see a lot more passing these next few weeks and looking forward to it. Edited September 13 by Alphadawg7 1 Quote
