Saxum Posted March 30 Posted March 30 https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/39813632/nfl-owners-approve-moving-trade-deadline-back-week-9 Quote NFL owners agreed Tuesday to move the trade deadline back one week to the Tuesday after Week 9 Wonder which teams pushed for this. Quote authorized a significant expansion to the league's replay assist program. Three penalty categories -- intentional grounding, roughing the passer and hits out of bounds -- were added to the list of plays replay assist can advise officials on. Good as long as it assisted evenly. Quote In addition, they also agreed to allow teams to use a practice squad player as their emergency No. 3 quarterback on game days, after requiring that player to be an existing member of the 53-man roster last season. This is very odd happening start of free agency when many of those QBs were released. It certainly gives some teams advantage. Quote The flurry of moves came on a day when they also approved a massive revamp of the kickoff. Quote

If the goal was to make the NFL trade deadline much more exciting, moving it back always made a ton of sense. You are looking for a balance of teams to be buyers and sellers and it was far too early. 1 Quote
Warcodered Posted March 30 Posted March 30 With the season gaining an extra week moving it back makes sense. 2 1 Quote
HardyBoy Posted March 30 Posted March 30 That's cool they're letting the 3rd qb be on the practice squad, thought it was silly to require them to be elevated last year 2 Quote
Saxum Posted March 30 Author Posted March 30 Well with 3rd QB I guess that means Kyle Allen can be #3 since he was on roster last year. Quote

Well maybe he will be cut and brought back to Buffalo if there are no better opportunities. When Pittsburgh's QBs are mentioned rarely does Kyle's name come up. Quote
Brianmoorman4jesus Posted March 30 Posted March 30 Not always letting a team have that 3rd QB was senseless. Who benefits from being 2 hits away from a QBless game? The league doesn’t even want that visually 1 Quote
