Beck Water Posted March 27 Posted March 27 Could be titled "Unlearning Dangerous Midwestern Habits" Also, I think other parts of the country may call them "Civil Defense Sirens" They're "Tornado Sirens" around here. Quote

They go off so frequently you just gotta go outside to check the sky to see if there’s even any rain" "Honey, I’m from Oklahoma. It’s the song of my people." "It said tornado watch cause I’m supposed to watch it right?" "add,"without my beer and lawn chair" at the end of that sentence and you have a deal!" Quote
Ridgewaycynic2013 Posted March 28 Posted March 28 Never mind that...can I get me another suh-weet tea, and a few extra sugar packets? About a dozen? 🤔 Quote
Just Jack Posted March 28 Posted March 28 (edited) My grandparents had an air raid siren at the end of their driveway. For about 5 minutes on the first Tuesday of every month, you would just forget trying to have any conversations or be able the hear the tv while it was tested. EDIT: Just looked on Google street view, it's still there... https://maps.app.goo.gl/EC9JKjqbJRVkREQe8 Edited March 28 by Just Jack Quote
