The Truth vs. Alex Jones - A Must Watch

Recommended Posts

What a disgusting individual. Watch it (HBO/MAX) and see if you recognize some of the behavior and the mode of argument that always goes back to "what about Iraq" or "what about Benghazi." As if that justifies slandering parents of victims of a horrific school shooting.

Alex Jones conspiratorial followers actually visit the graves of these kids and piss on them (saying they're empty anyway) or try to dig them up to "prove" that Sandy Hook was fake.

Oooh hadn't heard about this thanks.

I'm pretty sure he's a hero to our right wing conspiracy loving geniuses.

Come a long way from predicting a massive terror attack about two months before 9/11, right down to naming Bin Laden. Of course he likely ripped it off from Bill Cooper and then followed up after 9/11 with the stock fearmongering about more false flags and suitcase nukes and martial law. At least Cooper had the decency to put his money where his mouth was and get killed by the government.

That said, the show trial/humiliation ritual he sat through was a joke.

Watch the documentary. He was rude, belligerent, totally unsympathetic right to the end.

The only "show" was his attempt to turn the trial into further sales of his snake oil products.

Thanks for sharing. Didn’t realize this was a thing. I’ll have to watch it as soon as I have time.

Alex Jones is a garbage human and anyone who believes him is also garbage.

I guess more close to my meaning would be something like “you’re never going to convince me that being mean is worth one billion dollars.”

If your child was murdered at school and then you had to endure harassment and threats because a moron who was popular with other morons was making bank by saying that you made the whole thing up and your kid either never existed or wasn’t actually killed, what kind of damages do you think would be reasonable to get the idiot to stop ruining your life?

Is a billion dollar debt more effective than prison? Because last I checked Jones still manages to talk on the internet.

Last time I checked, the suit was a civil case and not a criminal one.

And again, a civil judgment in excess of one billion dollars for being mean is essentially a star chamber decision.

You asked what I would want in the above scenario. I answered. I would also accept public caning or the stocks. Hell, we could form up a good old fashioned mob and do the caning ourselves and save the taxpayers some money. What I wouldn’t want is an arbitrary decision that, in the end, amounts to a moral victory where everyone can clap and feel good about themselves for not being Alex Jones except for me, because there still isn’t any justice and my kid is still dead. At least with prison time, caning, etc. I get some justice.

Well, if Jones didn’t want such a big judgment against him, maybe he should have actually participated in discovery.

You could have just read my post to begin with and saved us both some time.

Yes, some of these huge judgments are largely symbolic. That doesn't render them pointless. The civil suit against OJ seems to have resulted in virtually no monetary recovery, but I would never say it was pointless.

Maybe if our legal system actually worked to enforce judgments there would be an argument that a billion dollars is excessive. How Alex Jones hasn't had every possible stream of income/assets attached/garnished is beyond me.

If you think his “lies” about Sandy Hook were told deliberately in order to increase sales of his supplements or health products - ok.  I guess there might be something there.  I don’t think so.  But whatever.  That’s some kind of horrendous slippery slope.

But if you think Jones should have to pay because he’s a “conspiracy theorist” and we need to silence any and all conspiracy (free speech) - you’re probably a fascist.

This is no longer ridiculous to ask - and you can blame 15 days turning into indefinitely for that:

For the record, something extremely disgusting and horrific happened at that school.  Kids and teachers were killed.

I absolutely believe that how and more importantly why it happened is not entirely the truth.  Still nothing on Vegas.  They keep the details of some shootings quiet for weeks or flat out vanish them if the narrative is bad.  Some within minutes were told “oh yea, it was a white dude with an AR and he posted pro Trump stuff online.

Regardless, these parents were led by the government to get Jones.  Not for a second do I believe them when it comes to anything they say about Jones.  The government used them to go after him and anyone like him.

If that doesn’t concern you then you’re probably a fascist thug.

The shooter is dead. Alex Jones is alive and his followers are harassing the families of the kids. No kidding they have more animosity towards Jones.

This is another right wing SEE THEY ARE AGAINST FREE SPEECH crusade and once again you’re slurping it up with no thought to the matter.

This is batshit nuts.

We know exactly how and why it happened.

A well-meaning but ultimately stupid mother decided her troubled autistic son would find the shooting sports a good way to bring some happiness.

He shot her with the gun she bought him, then shot a bunch of kids at his school.

Yeah. Those are the facts. You don't like them because somehow it doesn't fit your preferred narrative. There is absolutely no mystery here, no unknown facts, no unexplained gaps in the evidence. If you think there are, you just might be a conspiracy theorist.

It's the end result of his going through this trial process like a toddler having a tantrum, if he'd been an adult he'd likely still lost but probably a lower amount. Plus just refusing to cooperate unless there's some form of contempt charges that put him in jail and I don't think they really want/can with civil cases so the number just keeps going up.

With the shooter dead his punishment is done here. With Jones he's honestly lucky it's just a civil suit, the guy questioned the existence of their kids that died, accused them of being a part of a conspiracy faking their deaths, right as they were in the middle of grieving them. He created a movement crazies that harass them over their lost children, and these conspiracy theorists, those people never let this kind of ***** go. So yeah he's lucky all those parents did was sue him, because I can't imagine what they feel toward him, the shooter murdered their kids, Alex Jones pushed a reality where they never even existed.

Just completely ignoring the fact that at one point Jones testified that the shooting was 100% real and it was irresponsible to call it a hoax.
