H2o Posted March 19 Posted March 19 https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/jerry-jeudy-browns-agree-to-three-year-contract-extension Quote Jeudy has agreed to a three-year contract extension worth up to $58 million with $41 million guaranteed at signing, according to multiple reports. This is a bit odd. I know they traded for him, but Jeudy hasn't really done anything on the field to warrant this kind of $$$. I guess it's the Browns being the Browns again. 1 2 3 3 Quote
DJB Posted March 19 Posted March 19 (edited) Insane money for a guy that has not been good at all. It further proves that with these insane WR prices we need to go WR early in the draft preferably round 1 for that rookie contract Edited March 19 by DJB 2 3 1 Quote
mushypeaches Posted March 19 Posted March 19 The Curtis Samuel signing looks better and better each day 4 10 Quote
DJB Posted March 19 Posted March 19 Jeudy is a great route runner. The problem is he really lacks toughness and that’s an underrated part of being a WR. He’s afraid to go over the middle and get hit Quote
Warriorspikes51 Posted March 19 Posted March 19 Samuel will bring more to the Bills than Jeudy would have IMO 1 Quote
BADOLBILZ Posted March 19 Posted March 19 What fans should take away from this is the importance of positional value in the draft. That's what a 25 year old WR with the *potential* to play any of the 3 receiver positions but who has still only averaged just a bit less than 800 yards and 3 TD's per season is worth on the open market. The WR the Bills draft in round 1 could have a market value in excess of $30M in year 2 and then you at least have the option to pick up his 5th year at a set price or use it as leverage to extend his deal with some savings. If you fnd yourself warming up to the idea of using your first round pick on a center like Jackson Powers-Johnson or a safety/CB like Cooper Dejean........just don't. 6 5 1 2 3 Quote

They probably extended him with the trade to bring his number down. They also had $31M rollover from last year, partially because Watson's contract was structured to have low cap hits first two seasons. This year, his hit balloons to 60+. They are -47M over the cap in 2025, which will increase with this extension. Edited March 19 by FireChans 1 Quote

FLFan Posted March 19 Posted March 19 Well, at least Watson has shown himself to be the kind of player that elevates those around him. Hasn’t he? Well, maybe not. Quote
Alphadawg7 Posted March 19 Posted March 19 Browns are gonna Brown. Wow...that is insane deal for him. Quote
