Why?

He drops the ball way too much, and that was on display at the combine.  I also think he is way too skinny.  To me, he is just a deep threat and I dont want that.  I want a WR who can run the whole route tree.  That was the issue with Davis.

As others have said, I like Franklin. I think a faster and bigger-bodied receiver like Mitchell brings more value. Second round needs to be a safety/DE/DT.

Wonder if he would be someone they would take at 28 or maybe trade back and try and land if they come away impressed after his workout.

I hate reporting nowadays.  Ok so he thought Franklin had a good combine.  Cool, that’s his opinion.  Just say it then.  Franklin was “sick at the combine” seems like hyperbole and a scream for attention.  If you’re going to be a moron at least explain what the guy did that was so “sick”.

I agree with the drops but to me he’s a very good route runner. WR size doesn’t matter too much anymore to me. CBs can’t touch these guys anymore. I saw a guy that played fast and had suddenness in his routes. I also saw an ability after the catch.

Drops are concerning.

Yeah, I don't know about that. Every time we play the Chiefs we have to listen to Romo talking about their "sticky coverage" a.k.a. Defensive Holding and PI.

Well, he can definitely take over for Davis . . .

I really don't like Franklin.  He is my top, avoid at all costs WR.  Him and Tez.

My “avoid at all costs” is Keon Coleman…

Almost all he does is run vertical.  In terms of what it takes in the NFL, you cant call him a good route runner.  He just doesn't run enough of the route tree.

let him work out, leak it was unimpressive. that he was slow. he trashed his hotel and had dead hookers in his hotel with drugs, abused puppies, and pictures of girls feet.

then draft him in the 5th.

Wouldn’t last that long then.  He’d be what the Chiefs look for, be taken before we get the chance.

What I found interesting is Joe Brady was trying to recruit him to LSU when he was there. He obviously likes the kid

He was arguably the #1 WR in his class coming out of high school. Would be weird if LSU wasn't recruiting him. He visited many schools before committing to Oregon but LSU was not one of them. Granted I think this was all around the time of the pandemic so it was probably a weirder recruiting process than usual, but I'm not sure how much of a relationship there likely was between he and Brady. Brady wasn't the primary recruiter for LSU on him either.

I wouldnt mind him at 28.

Franklin or Legette assuming there is a run on WRs through the 1st.

Thomas, Franklin and Legette are my top WR fits for the Bills in the 1st.

Who remembers Beane hoping Gabe Davis didn’t run well at the combine? Hmm.

I don’t think the Bills care about the combine workouts at all. Probably more interested in the meetings.

His performance during the gauntlet was less to be desired.

Anquan Boldin, George Pickens dropped in the draft because of the "can't separate" crap. Coleman makes plays!! He "Moss" DBs. He returns punts. Played at Mich. St, cold climate. Think Drake London who went top 10 in the draft last year. Or Courtland Sutton. I'm good with Keon.

I don't agree that he's only a deep threat. That's my concern with Brian Thomas. Franklin I think can run a full route tree. He has quick footwork and overall good technical route running. His size and hands do concern me a bit though, I'll admit.

But Troy runs the entire route tree and if what I've read is true, it was mostly a bad habit of him looking up field before he secured the ball.  That's an easy fix.

Troy came in 8lbs heavier at his pro day, so perhaps he really was sick at the combine.

He was my original pick at WR and I would not, at all, be disappointed with this selection.

He has the potential to be the best of this class.
