What happens when the supply of goods is suddenly choked? What happens to prices?

That’s bad. Obviously. It’s just that you seemed to hold different positions in the recent past. If I were so inclined, it would be very easy to quote some of those positions here.

Don’t worry about it. consistency is overrated.

I have no idea what you’re talking about so I’ll let you twist in the wind and potentially ruminate on Trump’s disastrous policies.

Don't get him started. He collects political posts on an obscure corner of an obscure football fan forum like this guy collects bobbleheads.

Looks like you may have quoted the wrong post. It happens.

Do you remember that time you were a little scoldy because you thought Karen Bass had only been in office a few weeks prior to the horrible fires? That was awesome.

For an old guy you are right onto this new right mode of "we perused everything you ever posted anywhere" facile form of argument.

I really regret the way the administration has not informed our country on how obvious this situation was, and that something absolutely needed to be done.

We were getting abused by China, India and the EU.

A response to this is absolutely justified.

China is the worst, but our other trade partners are nearly as guilty, and the situation needs to change.

The Treasury Secretary was on CNBC for an extended interview this morning and his most informative comment was that when they started looking at this stuff, he couldn't believe how bad it has gotten.

This gets worked out, but it wasn't moving in that direction.

What few also seem to realize is that an almost $40T national debt, with $8T added under Biden, is untenable.

That is painfully obvious.

.

Why do you support Americans paying higher prices for everything?

1) Trade deficits are NOT the same thing as a budget deficit

2) Trump's plan will add $7.75 trillion to the deficit.

I’ve mentioned it before - there are times when someone posts something so ridiculous that it’s easy to remember. Do you expect that I will have to peruse any prior posts to recall you giving us a picture of CC Sabathia claiming it was George Scott? Of course not.

You, Redhawk, and Roundy are not necessarily an exclusive club, but you do make things easy.

For those who refuse to read articles, this says things are very bad, terrible, not at all good news about the dollar at a 3 year low despite the promise these tariffs would make it stronger.  This is chaos.  We are losing.

Sound analysis.

I'm always quoting Chesterton here: "A man should not take down a fence until he understands why it was put up."

Yet another example of Trump not heeding that advice. That conservative advice.

Breasty Chesterton, the exotic dancer?  It sounds dirty if you ask me.

So Trump claimed he got 200 trade deals done. Poor Bessent has to go on tv explaining they are actually “sub deals”. 🤨 I’m pretty sure I have a sub deal done to buy a new car at my below invoice asking price. I’m not going to get ripped off by those dealers.

My wife and I have a "sub-deal" to buy a $10 million home in Aspen. By which I mean: she really likes it, and the realtor says that as soon as we come up with $10 million it's ours.
