When is trudeau leaving? That loser is supposed to be replaced. After that Canada can get back to normal.

This does not explain why we are doing this to our ally. Your fellow MAGAs on here have all refused to answer. Want to take a stab at this?

Okay so you’ve got late stage brain worms too. Did you and BillsFanNC both go to the same school and played desktop football instead of learning what communism is?

The most up-to-date figures from CBP recorded 189,402 encounters at the northern border in fiscal year 2023. This includes people who arrive at legal points of entry and turn themselves in to request asylum, as well as those who are captured after illegally crossing into the U.S.

There were 10,021 arrests for illegal crossings in that period.”

Good.  There are far better chicken sandwiches out there.

not for the "working man".  we told you so.  This is redistribution of wealth and not towards the "working class".  Your extra $800/yr costs thru these taxes will pay for my tax breaks.  and you'll be happy about it cuz trump did it.  morons.

Experts have repeatedly warned that tariffs could lead to higher costs that companies will pass onto consumers.

The Tax Foundation, a nonpartisan think tank, estimated Trump’s tariffs announced Saturday would result in what amounts to an average tax increase of $830 per household in the U.S.

Democratic lawmakers have decried Trump’s decision as one that will increase prices despite his campaign pledge to bring down inflation. Business groups, such as the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, have also criticized the tariffs.

for Canada, it’s more or less the same reasons. they won’t secure their border either, and they rely heavily on US military for protection. Canada has 0 aircraft carriers and a weak navy, for example, which is embarrassing for a country that borders both major oceans.

The only thing I’ve heard Trump talk about is reducing the amount of fentanyl coming into the USA from Canada. I’m sure there are probably some illegal migration across the border as there has been for my entire life. Whatever the issues are with the northern border, they are tiny compared to the southern border. This is all BS and if you believe it you’re dumb.

We are now at 4% unemployment rate which is historically low. So if all this manufacturing returns to the USA, who is going to work at these jobs? Do your kids dream of working in a factory? The labor won’t be the immigrants now. Are corporation CEOs going to make a long term decision to move a manufacturing plant into America based on the stupid policies of a lame duck president? The next President may restore free trade agreements leaving that company in the wrong location. Americans like cheap affordable products. That’s why we are a consumer society.

Trump refers to the great 1800s when talking about how wonderful tariffs are. Someone needs to tell him the world has changed alot since then. This is like some communist dictator with a personal fantasy trying to return their society to its agrarian roots. If we don’t buy products from other nations, those nations can also buy the products they get from America from other nations too…. Like China. Americans get to pay more to live. Prices go up again. Prices for other stuff goes up too… just because….like happened after Covid. Once prices go up, they never go down. Working class just gets beaten into submission to pay more to live. The only politician in America who thinks this is a good idea is brain dead Trump. China and Russia are celebrating as we become weaker. Yay!

I’ll respond…

I love what Trump is doing with the border and identity politics.

Not sure how the tariffs will work out.. and guess what?   I.  Don’t.  Care.

Hes already earned grace from me to do whatever he thinks he needs to do given how he’s taken a flamethrower to people like Brennan, Milley etc and followed through on a national policy and identity policy I voted for him to do.

Will the tariffs work?  What are they for?

Dont know.  Don’t care.

I trust Trump in economic issues 10x more than the brain dead nonsense we had the past four years.

Gonna go ahead and say that my view is probably the view most of the country has given Trumps current approval ratings and how laughable most find the current iteration of the Democrat Party.

So yall can fear monger about tariffs and cry all day on X over it… ok, we’ll see how it goes.   Whatever.

LOL!  I am as much a "working man" as you used to be (you retired, right?).  My tax breaks will more than cover the $800/year, not that I need anything covered.

The main point is that Democrats f****d up so bad over the past 4 years that Trump can come in and flood the zone, including start tariff wars, and most people are just like “ok, whatever”.

Yall can screech about it on social media all you want… its not breaking through.

Maybe if it drags out and people really feel it, we’ll see… but right now my view is the prevailing view… meh, whatever.

Maybe your party should think about not being a nonsense-obsessed clown factory and we can have a real substance based discussion one day.

there sure seemed to be some posters complaining about the plight of the working class before the election.  I don't agree with the conclusions about capital gains taxes here but the premises are correct.  You'd think someone as highly placed as you would appreciate the benefits of lower capital gains taxes...also, there are taxable required distributions of assets in retirement.  Limiting taxes on these distributions is major function of financial advisors in retirement.  perhaps you should avail yourself of one.
