Andy1 Posted Tuesday at 02:57 AM Posted Tuesday at 02:57 AM Trump is a destroyer. It’s easy to kill and destroy relationships and institutions but hard to build them. You would think by now he would have some amazing incredible deal to announce to convince people to have faith in his economic plan. Now it looks like there are no deals because Trump does not know what he wants and no one can negotiate for him. The blind leading the blind. Today the market showed their lack of faith in him. No one has any belief or faith in his economic plan. The idiocy is obvious. 3

Basically China will be targeting any country that makes a deal with the US to screw them over and not just balance trade/tariffs. And that's fair. Edited Tuesday at 12:31 PM by Doc

Also, on a serious point, these tariffs and the approach to them are so friggin dumb. If the tariffs are so critical, then why pause them? And why, through the pause, give our competitors time to reorient and direct trade away from us? It's hard to fathom that someone could be so stupid as to approach this issue in this way. 9 hours ago, Joe Ferguson forever said: I'm hoping some maga here can tell me what is good about this https://www.investopedia.com/dow-jones-today-04212025-11718673 MAGA has nothing. Get the financial house in order Senator. Cut taxes and deregulate. Maybe trump should stop taxing the middle class with his stupid tariffs. That’s one way to get the house in order. 1

Coffeesforclosers Posted Tuesday at 02:31 PM Posted Tuesday at 02:31 PM If only we had some kind of partnership across the Pacific, that excluded China and smoothed out trade. That would be a great idea. 2

daz28 Posted Tuesday at 06:07 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:07 PM My concern is that at some point, the American people are going to demand action, a disadvantage the Chinese don't have, and trump will make a bad deal, then label it as the greatest deal ever made. 6 hours ago, Doc said: Yeah, it sounded bad initially. If the goal is to isolate China then the best way to do that is to remove all the tariffs Trump imposed on other countries and pass tariff legislation making Chinese tariffs permanent unless certain concessions are met. If the goal is to bring manufacturing jobs and businesses back to the US then he again needs legislation passed through Congress so businesses know this tariff policy is permanent so they can make long term business decisions to invest in America. 1

This is why fascists always lose. Because they're bold and overconfident. That's always their downfall. It made ZERO sense to start tariff wars with the whole world. You manipulate each of them against each other if you're smart. if you're real stupid, you make them all your enemies at the getgo.
