We got Donald “Chairman Mao” Trump in office So Trump wants tariffs, increasing the cost that all dealers will have to pay, and then he wants them to eat that cost? Of course that cost will be passed on to the buying public! So what do all the republicans who say Biden was a communist have to say about this? In addition, the cost of used cars will rise since more people will be shopping used and there is a massive shortage of good used cars due to supply chain problems after Covid. But that’s not all. The cost to repair our cars will increase as the parts are more expensive due to the Trump tax and the cost to insure our cars will be higher since it will cost more to repair them. We will all get to pay more to Donald while he will give his billionaire buddies tax cuts. 2

The US has much higher sales of goods into Canada, which creates US jobs. The balance for Canada is Oil and NG, which creates few jobs and the US needs it. More jobs from Canada went to Mexico than US jobs. It was US companies who set up duty free zones in Mexico. Today trump threatened my country if we try and mitigate the tariffs he placed on us (and more to come in April.) if we get together and expand our business he will punush us. Now that is a trustworthy business man. Now there is a classless #######. So we are suppose to sit here and take his *****. For all I care the US can turn into Cuba and join with his buddy Putin. Canadians will stop buying anything from the US, screw him. Screw your gutless politicians, screw your gutless business leaders. Wow. First, we aren't talking about NAFTA. Autopac favored Canada and that simply isn't negotiable. NAFTA did shift favor to Mexico from Canada.

Either that or they ignore him and raise prices anyways. Either outcome is not optimal. Doesn't he realize a lot of the parts used by American car companies to make cars are imported from other countries? It will take years to move manufacturing to the US and even then it will be less efficient and cost more. This will jack up car insurance premiums too. Also, if you're the head of these companies how can you plan long term if there's no guarantee that these Tariffs will be permanent? Edited Friday at 07:59 AM by Doc Brown 1 1 1

The situation trump has placed us in today, even though he is not truthful, was built with the fully knowledge, approval, and rules set by the US government from Pres to congress to governors, at the wish of the industry, at the wish of citizens who needed vehicle pricing to remain low, to add tech to vehicles, to help drag Mexico into the world and develop, in the great spirit of friendship, business relationship and North American power and strength. It was done in tandem with mutual security, the sharing of data about citizens sensitive data. It was done with private and government investment in schools, training, sharing, and cross border professional movement. Without these efforts Kentucky would not have an auto industry, nor would Carolina, and Texas. Then without discussion, without consideration, and with great malice, the prez and his honchos violated the trust of the signature of the prez , his own actual signature, violated the trust of an entire nation he represents and without cause. We and the world now know, don't trust the US or its people, or it's businesses. Money is the result of business, but trust is the real currency. That will be the lesson. 1 1

Honest question--do you think he's doing more than what he campaigned on and was elected by a majority to do? As an fyi, I didn't vote for him, but it sure seems to me that he ran on this agenda?

If that is what you signed up for, to attack your friends without conversationm without being civil, with threats of takeover and attack, with threats to destroy your friends, to violate agreements you and specifically he signed, to mock, to outright lie about issues.
