Maybe they should just run it back with inanities like Putin’s Price Hike and “transitory inflation”.

You’re losing control of the narrative really quick. Hurry, start gaslighting people!

Can you please explain the benefits of massive tariffs on our close allies?

President Trump will fire his first tariff salvo on Saturday against those notorious American adversaries . . . Mexico and Canada. They’ll get hit with a 25% border tax, while China, a real adversary, will endure 10%. This reminds us of the old Bernard Lewis joke that it’s risky to be America’s enemy but it can be fatal to be its friend.

I'm going to Costco to buy a metric ton of avocados and tomatoes. Maybe some maple syrup too and a 50 lb bag of peat moss. I hope I'm not too late.

You’ve repeatedly told us how thrifty you are to the point of three adults dining on a 20 piece McNugget - though you never came clean on who only got 6 nuggets. Please don’t throw it all away now because of TRUMP. Avocados do not age well and freezing guacamole is a non-starter. It would be a complete waste.

Better stock up on lumber if you build anything. The price of housing will be more expensive.

I’m still waiting for the MAGA crowd here explain the logic of tariffs on Canada to ostensibly make them reduce the fentanyl coming into America. So all the rest of America has to pay more money to live to help save the lives of drug addicts? This is stupid.

Oh, that was advice for the hoi polloi.

Nothing but freshly make guac for my tortilla chips.

And they sell avocadoes so damn unripe that they actually keep well for longer than you realize.

For you and your ilk: may I suggest what I will call All-(North) American "Freedom Guac"

They don’t have it. The usual suspects like B-Man have already pivoted to “Lol Liberals crying about inflation.”

You may not. An abomination.

Misinformation. They have a shelf life of about 8 hours once ripe. Prior to the short period of ripeness, they are useless.

Perhaps for an elite such as Redhawk. I will stand in solidarity with mi hermanos y hermanas and insist on the real thing. If that means splitting one avocado para la cena con dos compadres, así que es.

Less than 1% of the fentanyl and migrants that enter the US come from Canada.

The US consumes a lot of cheap Canadian oil, and that’s what drives the trade deficit, which is only $55 billion, not the $100-200 billion figure Trump makes up. And the US actually has a trade surplus when oil is excluded from the equation.

It’s crazy that Trump’s brain dead base supports an unnecessary trade war with the US’s ally…without even questioning what his motives really are.

The fentanyl excuse is funny. I'm sure Trump is crying every night over the Appalachian deaths by OD. Trump probably has a good laugh over their deaths

Yup, this is how you switch the tax base away from Trump's buddies and onto the backs of the American people

While the market’s largest companies can afford to bring products in early, a strategy called frontloading, not all companies can afford to do take this approach.

“I don’t know what’ll happen,” said Rick Muskat, president of the family-owned shoe retailer Deer Stags, which imports around two million shoes a year, with about 98% of their men’s and boy’s shoes made in China and sold in Macy’s, Kohl’s, JCPenney, and on Amazon.

Trump has threatened to ultimately impose tariffs of up to 60% on products from China.

Muskat says the company’s “razor-thin margins” prohibit it from frontloading products, and consumers may ultimately have to pay. “We’ll increase our price,” Muskat said. “The retailer will either accept it or won’t accept it. If they accept it, they’ll increase their price. Then the consumer will be left with no other choice. There will be sticker shock.”
