WR Mack Hollins Hates Soup

I like soup, and I love cats. I am a crazy cat person, novelist, collector of too many books.

The fella is amusingly eccentric. I don't care one way or the other, if he makes plays.

If he doesn't, I'm going to find it easy to hold a grudge against the weirdo whose proclivities I don't agree with.

Barefoot in Buffalo doesn't seem like the brightest idea in football season.

"Barefoot in Buffalo" sounds like the name of a RomCom flick

Seriously, in the days when everyone went barefoot, the winter sidewalks weren't covered with snow melting compound.  My dog could care less about running around in snow.  Somehow the blood flow in her pads adjust.  But snow melting compound is Evil.  It leads to puddles of liquid that are below freezing and can damage her paws, and the chemicals themselves can dry the skin and cause cracking.  We either don't walk her, or put booties on her, before she walks anywhere that might have had snow melt applied to it.  And when we don't think there's snow melt to worry about, we apply Musher's Secret to partially protect.

Snowmelt is Bad, Mack, Don't Do It.

I used to hate soup. Then I started making this creamy potato and leek soup and everything changed.

Yeah, potato leek is one of the good ones. Split pea. Lentil. Chicken, if the chunks are big.

Life is good when you have one of those things.

My thing with McKenzie is, he brought a lot of energy to the locker room and the team reportedly, but I think it sometimes came at the expense of buckling down, watching film, and being prepared.  No one was ever voting him in as Team Captain.

Hollins was apparently been voted a team captain on 3 of the 4 NFL  teams he's played for - Eagles, Dolphins, and Raiders (for whom he only played 1 year).  That's amazing.  So he's a crazy funny guy, yes, but there's got to be a lot more to him.

in college, he was special teams captain for 4 years.  That says a lot

Yah i read some of that the dude has gat some different ways of thinking about things which hey what ever floats your boat , But the eating with your hands thing - I bet spaghetti night at his house is a hoot !!

Which that is probably why he hates soup too eating soup with your hands would be almost as hard as eating a soup sandwich ...

I like how both new WR's, Hollins and Samuel, cited the Bills fans and crazy atmosphere surrounding the Bills-mania up here as major reasons why they signed on.

It is considered poor form to say it’s all about the money.   😋

Isn't that Miami clip from the Covid game where the Saints were picking able bodied people out of the crowd to play? Nice throw Tua

Hollins played for the Dolphins during Covid year, yes.

I'm puzzled, because I think it was a preseason game - I don't  believe the Dolphins played the Saints during the regular season in 2020 - but my vague memory is that the preseason games were cancelled that year.  Maybe the final one took place?

Like this guy. From this interview:

Reporter 1: You eat with your hands?

Hollins: Yeah, you just eat with your hands. That’s what they’re there for.

Reporter 2: Like anything?

Hollins: Anything.

Reporter 2, fascinatedly: Really?

Reporter 3: Pasta?

Hollins: If you can’t eat it with your hands, you shouldn’t be eating it.

Reporter 4: Soup?

Hollins: Shouldn’t be eating soup. You’ve never seen a lion eat soup. You’ve never seen a gorilla. You’ve never seen anything savage eat soup.

He can also ball.

I am 100% guaranteeing that if I gave a lion soup, he would eat it.

2020 pre-season was cancelled.  2021 the Dolphins played at the Saints on MNF, on Christmas weekend.  Dolphins won 20-3.  Mack had two targets, 1 reception, for 40 yards.

He isn't wrong. And as the great Bania said to the Seinfeld: Soup isnt a meal

Soup is OFTEN a meal! I have my lunch place for Gumbo, and another for their New England Clam Chowder, and a couple places I go to see if the daily soup will catch me. I even make a lot of vegetable soup at my wife's request, and I do Gazpacho at least once in the summer.

Soup IS good food!
