If you’ve made 80M in your career and had an opportunity to take a job in the same city as your wife’s medical practice and her family, would you? I would assume she would love that. Some hubbys do what makes their wives happy. They’re swimming in $ already. Happiness. Jordan Poyer has made a fraction of what Armstead has made in his career and he signed a 2M deal to play in the city where his family lives. I bet he could’ve gotten more than 2M on the open market. But he didn’t care about the money in this case. He wanted to be home with his family. Maybe Armstead feels the same 6 minutes ago, Westside said: Where are you getting ten teams competing for him from? Besides, we have zero depth at DT. I’m sorry but a draft pick isn’t going to be much of a difference maker. The crux of the discussion was based around @Warriorspikes51 citing @HappyDays' report on the situation which was such: "Alright here's what I just heard on Arik Armstead - we asked him to give us last dibs to match his best offer. But there are ~10 teams in on him." Quote

Getting a player who has been to multiple Super Bowls from a great defense can certainly help I'm sure he would help some I'm just at the point where I've seen what old and expensive on defense gets us and I'd like to try a different direction 1 Quote

You’re close to home The QB you just played with well our QB can play better then that blindfolded Let’s hope it’s enough Edited March 14 by 78thealltimegreat 1 Quote

If questioning whether handing over another big DL contract is wise makes me a "party pooper", after Von and Oliver and already putting most of our money this offseason into Epenesa and Jones, so be it. Im at a loss for what this WR room looks like, but pressure from the interior is how you get Mahomes uncomfortable.. especially with how the playoffs are officiated. Armstead, Oliver and Jones is a top tier DT rotation. If they can get it done, im ok relying on the Draft, but would hope we double up with a WR in RD1 and another on Day 2. Cost is likely to make the other necessary sacrifices too prohibitive. You never know how much a guy that age will get, but it's just not likely. Quote

It sucks that DL is still a need after all the investments, but that's the reality. And this DL draft class royally sucks after the the top few guys. Ideally we would be able to sign Armstead to get a true difference maker on the DL, then sign a mid-tier WR like Curtis Samuel or Josh Reynolds, then draft the best WR available in the 1st round. If we just sign Armstead and don't add to the WR room in free agency I will be disappointed. 1 3 1 1 Quote

But with the money guys like Mooney and especially Ridley got, I question the ability to get a guy like Armstead and a decent vet WR. 1 Quote

It seems the drop off between DL talent and CB talent is a mile wide in this draft. It seems so simple, but I’m sure someone will tell me why this binary choice is not. 2 Quote

Douglas gives us a very high floor at the position. I was 50/50 on moving on from him or not, I can see both sides of it. Quote

Not sure on ramifications of trade after restructure. Think extention 1-2 years possible. I think he only gets moved if Elam looks like a stud in camp 1 Quote

There isn’t much in favor of the Bills getting him. A team like the Texans with the tax situation alone of Texas opposed to New York is going to make this a heavy lift that even the thought of 17 as your qb can overcome. 1 Quote
