So now what?

At DT, someone that I think makes a lot of sense as a rotational piece for us, albeit not a sexy name, is Las Vegas Raiders DT Adam Butler.

He's coming off of a 5 sack season with 8 tackles for a loss, in which he never started a game. Raiders fans do NOT want to see him go. Could be an under the radar name at a low cost that yields a good dividend:

I did hear he put on 25 pounds for Dune 2 so he's probably up to a solid 160 by now

Von doesn’t sign here without Allen.

A bunch of other guys who who could

make more elsewhere have stayed, because we have Allen.

Without Allen, if given the choice, almost ever FA is taking close or a little less to play in a state like Florida.

The Jets, with the allure of NYC, couldn’t even compete with Miami for Tyreek Hill because of this.  Only reason Cali gets a pass is because of the weather & LA.

Ridiculous post. There's 3 teams in Florida and one in Nevada. Florida and Nevada ONLY have lower taxes because they are states that benefit from a huge tax on tourism advantage that doesn't exist everywhere else.. Period. The rest of the 28 NFL teams are generally in the same tax situation. How many championships have the tax advantaged teams gained from there tax advantage? Two in the last 50  years (Tampa) !! No advantage....  Big none story.

Tennessee also has no state income tax

Any nasty DT’s out there on bad teams who we could trade for?

The feeling I get is that Armstead was a special circumstance. A guy who made it known he was interested in coming here based on his Wife. We hoped with his interest we could get him on a good price, albeit one a little higher than we'd normally pay. When it became clear he was going to get paid (which I always expected) - we were out.

I wouldn't expect us to be in the market for someone similar and especially not if it would cost us a Draft Pick, though I could be wrong.

I will say though, as I said from the beginning, if Armstead was a serious consideration - than we should be in on a starting quality Wide Receiver or a Safety like Simmons.

We'll see if we pivot elsewhere or not. It would be annoying if it was Armstead or bust. But it wouldn't surprise me.
