But you need bodies for camp, and some vet competition for rookies to get a good read on exactly where they stand. Just because we brought him back doesnt mean he stays, or that we are done addressing the position. I know we have to pay for some depth, I just don't know why we are rushing to get these sorts of players re-signed. Give it until next week and then sign the best available depth DB for the vet minimum. Better yet wait until after the draft and see what's left. I keep seeing people say "no way the Bills can use 11 draft picks, there isn't room on the roster" but that's only true because of the likes of Lewis and Rapp. I would rather get as cheap as possible at those depth spots and spend our cap space on a real difference maker. Bruffalo Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Cam Lewis is probably my least favorite Bill of all the guys on the team who don't see play. I know we shouldn't judge a player by a single paly but the 4th down against Jefferson where he doesn't bat the ball is a cuttable offense. I don't feel good with him taking snaps. I don't understand what McDermott sees. 1 Quote
GunnerBill Posted March 11 Posted March 11 That is your Siran Neal replacement at a cheaper cost basically. 1 4 Quote
khlax3 Posted March 11 Posted March 11 This move replaces Neal for less money and more versatility 2 Quote

All of them had spectacular plays when they're on the field though. Cam Lewis has really only had lowlights. I get that's harsh, given his position as a backup, but I'd much rather try someone new at this point than give him another shot. Quote

Eastport bills Posted March 11 Posted March 11 He knows the system and has a role. I don’t remember him being on the positive end of too many plays though. Bills fan should get ready for a procession of dumpster dive signings like this and Morris. If Beane signs a skill position low end driftwood player, that’s a problem. We need a few impact guys. Just my opinion though, obviously the Bills disagree. I'm not mad they resigned him, it hopefully will matter little as he won't see play. I would have gone in a different direction, I'll take potential over known bad play at the bottom of the roster all day. Quote

Well enough that some thought he would actually be the Hyde replacement. Sal C made that prediction. I won’t go that far, but he’s definitely a good depth piece on the rise. 1 Quote
LABILLBACKER Posted March 11 Posted March 11 32 minutes ago, HappyDays said: Not really a fan of this. Lewis and Rapp are not guys you sign on day zero of FA. If they sign elsewhere so be it, we can find cheaper options on day 3 of the draft or in late stage FA. McDermott is a little too obsessed with continuity at depth positions IMO. What is with this team's love affair with Cam Lewis. Keep keeping mediocrity. Quote
