Given the opportunities he had and the multiple goose egg games with no stats, I'd disagree that he was playing to expectations.  

 

He blew up every 3rd-4th game.  Too volatile to be relied on.

The Jags are trying to build the most expensive mid core of WR. Ridley is gone so they’ll have Gabe/Kirk/ZayDay Jones.

We didn’t ask him to do much. He ran a few routes all the time. He claims he can do a lot more. We were lucky, Diggs never got hurt so we never had to see him as a WR1.

Good luck to Gabe. Good guy and hard worker. That said, I'd be unhappy if Beane re-signed him at that number.

Yep. He was always gonna get around $14m IMO and a couple of the top guys staying put has bumped him into the $16m plus range.

Nice, this is a downgrade from Ridley, so at least we don't have to worry about them being "better" and it takes one team who was heavily seen as a candidate to go WR ahead of us now off the board.

 

I do wish him luck though, liked Gabe a lot even though his game and limitations frustrated me many times and I felt we needed to go in another direction.  Just hope he does one of those 0 catch games whenever we play him that he is known for.

So $39M is the real number. He gets $3M AAV more than MVS got when he signed with the Chiefs. Sounds about right after two years of salary inflation.
