This isn’t my idea so credit to the posters who have mentioned DJ Reader as a UFA target.

Here is a look back at our interest in him last time he was a UFA.

He was a problem at Houston in the WC

Then he dominanted for Cindy in Divisional

He is 29.  He did tear his quad late in the season

I wanted DJ Reader so bad back then but I don't remember the Bills showing that much interest at the time?  Thought it was more of a fans wishful thinking kinda thing

Aaron Wilson from the Houston Chronicle reported we had interest apparently

Interesting if true.  I'm not one of those you gotta go out and sign all these big name free agent kinda guys but that's definitely one move I wish Beane would've pulled the trigger on.

Does he have anything left? I know nothing about his play the last three years.

See above re his destruction of our IOL in the Bengals divisional round disaster.

Obviously he got hurt late in the yesr but before that he was still an elite 1T and one of the best run defenders up front in the entire league

Sounds like the cut rate guy who shows up at your wedding reception, and plays lame records.  'Don't Be Cruel' polka, and similar.

Even worse, our in plant credit union had an annual social and dinner at a nice restaurant.  One year they hired one of the design engineers to indulge everyone in his hobby - the accordion.  Complete with the automatic rhythm accompanied. 😳

What do you think he’d get $ wise?

4 years 13 mil per?

Spotrac projects 3 years $44.75 million ($14.9 million per year).

I would absolutely pay that all day every day!!! 👍

Can't Beane just go to the classified ads and get an even more used one?  Comes with 20 pairs of cleats? 🤔

Can the Bills afford that?

Sure they can. It just severely limits what they can do at other positions. They can create 30+ million in cap space pretty reasonably. But they have a lot of players they need to sign.
