Bosa has played 14 games over the past two seasons.

Mack has only missed 12 games over 9 seasons, ten of which were in 2021. Khalil is far and away the more sure thing.

It is apparent to me that Von Miller needed a Bradley Chubb or Aaron Donald to be effective. As a lone threat he is a non-threat. We will need one other sack threat besides Von. I was hoping it would be Rousseau or Floyd but it never materialized. Maybe we can just rotate other guys and cross our fingers.

Josh Sweat is younger and cheaper

These were 2 great players. They've nothing left to play for but pride. Too bad the Bolts have been such underachievers. I wonder about price and their condition, but perhaps an interesting option.

We'll definitely get a guy as insurance in FA and/or Draft someone in the mid Rounds. I think AJ coming back is way more likely now that Von did what he did.

But I don't see any way we're going to go out and get a Superstar that guarantees Von won't reach the incentives he conceded to and guarantees he has no chance of earning his job back.

Without a pass rush we have no chance on d. May as well go all in on o and not waste any money on d.

Of course he's going to do the best for the team.

But if you think he and Von didn't have a discussion about future plans for the position before he gifted over close to 9m in a cut, choosing to turn them into incentives that he didn't have to do - in regards to whether he'll have a good chance to hit them or not before he agreed to it - I think you're kidding yourself.

He's going to insure he's not 100% putting all his eggs into the Von basket and has insurance there. But there's a big difference between covering our butts and completely closing the door on any possible chance Von could start before seeing him in Training Camp.

I would be very disappointed in Beane if he gave Von Miller assurances of playing time or that he would not bring in another quality DE. I just can’t see that happening. Von should earn his time on the field just like everyone else. I would also be disappointed if Beane relied on Miller to be a quality player this season. The Bills have to have another viable starting caliber DE in case Miller does not round back into form.

That's just for this season. It doesn’t even address our DE needs in 2025 and beyond. The odds that Von Miller will be here in 2025 are close to 0. We need someone in the pipeline. It doesn’t have to be a Mack or Bosa, but we need someone worthy of playing time.

Bad memories. We traded up for Watkins when Mack was there.

Mack has been a turd compared to Aaron Donald..........whom they wouldn't even have had to trade up for.

Why is it so apparent because he came back from a major knee injury too soon and wasnt much of a threat. In his first ten games here -- he  had 8 sacks before that injury

I would trade Von Miller for Khalil Mack straight up because Von Miller is done as a NFL player. This way Von Miller can go back to Los Angeles with the Los Angeles Chargers this time. Von Miller

on the Buffalo Bills is like Joe Namath on the Los Angeles Rams. It’s sad to watch Von Miller simply can’t play football anymore. The mind wants to but body says no. It’s sad Von Miller had nothing left once he left the Los Angeles Rams with a Super Bowl ring he should have retired a champion. As a Bills fan I hope I am wrong but it’s sad and painful to watch Von Miller play his knee is done just like Joe Namath in my opinion. Go Bills! Let’s Go Buffalo

Not sure I totally agree with your assessment.  Von looked really good before his injury.

I expect we will see an improvement in Vons performance in 2024.  Maybe not to the level if three years ago, but still a disruptive force.

That was literally 473 days ago from today. LOL.

Bosa has always been a bigger name than he's been an impact. He's only played a complete season in 3 of his 8 seasons and has missed half the season or more 3 times. He only has 4 seasons of double digit sacks and has never exceeded 12.5 -  his sophomore season. I'm good.

LOL how long do you think it takes a 34 year old edge rusher to return to at or near his previous ability?  (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/30611344/

according to a study done in 2019 about 50 weeks so about 1 year; so von is just over that and with his age, the physical nature of the game his position and the bending/edge rushing skills that he employs to be one of the best I'd say he is right on schedule.  Plus there are sooo many factors that can impact recovery from the exact injury itself to the position played, age, luck, etc.  I think Von is too competitive and works too much to hone his craft and technique to not come back to form, hopefully Milano can come back from his injury and to form as well.  Luckily Milano is only 29 and plays a position that imo requires less consistent change of direction and bending plus his injury was mainly from an impact trauma and less about twisting the ligaments.

I'd love to have Bosa here. He's guaranteed 10+ sacks when healthy, but that's the rub.

He's missed 20 games the last 2 seasons, so availability is a huge concern.

If we’re going to present “general recovery” let’s present “general production” for 35 year old pass rushers.

Then present “general production” for 35 year old pass rushers with one bad knee.

Then do it again for two of them.

There is no “right on schedule” for this situation.  Something like 2/3 of all NFL players are out of the league in 3 years after a single ACL injury. Let alone 2.

Father time is undefeated.
