Paul Costa Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Knowing we have some cap space but not a ton I’d hope to bring back Daquan, AJE & Ty Johnson. Would love to add Gilman the FS from the LAC & WR Noah Brown from Houston. Be great to get Dotson back but think he’s going to get a more lucrative deal than we will offer. 1 Quote

The last time we picked up a DB that the Packers let go, it worked out tremendously well for us. DQ resigning is one less hole to fill on that line and there’s a lot of them. Played well when he was on the field; especially pre-London. Hollywood Brown though? No thanks. Still can’t believe Baltimore squeezed a 3rd rounder and him for a 1st that in turn turned into another trade in which we selected Elam. Quote

Sign DE - Hunter DT- Wilkens Give them deals that have min impact on the 2024 cap space . Von type deals were he counted 5.5 mil on the cap the first yr. Sign SS- Chinn FS- Stone Adding these 2 Safeties won't break the bank I believe collectively they'll get around 13 mil total per season. Projected starting D DE - Hunter DT- Wilkens DT- Oliver DE- Groot LB- Milano LB- Bernard CB - Douglas CB- Benford CB - Taron SS - Chinn FS - Stone That's a Superbowl caliber defense use only vet min deals for bkups and the draft . On offense there's really no money to use here because I spent it on the defense but we can sign a vet Wr to compete for starting X . Use the draft to load up on WRS. Draft 2 or 3 Wrs at least and with the rest of the draft go BPA no matter the position. I'm tired of the Bills getting the usual suspects in free agency signing a bunch of 5/7 mil per yr players. I hope this yr we consolidate and get 2 big deals then go to work on cheap 1 yr deals that's what Beane strength is anyways plus he's good at drafting in the mid rds so this type of off-season is definitely douable. That’s a lot of money to that defense and if the transpires you’d hope it’s one that you can rely on just as much as Josh to get the team to the promised land. Hunter and Wilkins are going to see sizable contracts put their way this window. If you’re getting both of them I think signing both Chinn and Stone would be tough as awesome as it would be. Both are still young and have proven to be valuable on the back end in certain schemes. The right fit and team probably prices them out of our margins especially with a Hunter & Wilkins acquisition. The trouble when you have these massive contracts on the books in both active and dead cap is that you really are only able to go after the “usual suspects”. The usual suspects they’ve grabbed the services of haven’t exactly been bad, just a combination of injuries and/or lack of use. Defensively they’ve worked out well, Von aside, it’s the offensive skill positions that have fallen short more for the team imo… The OLine ones have paid off. I’ll take them signing those usual suspects for our defense again. Splash the cash or draft specifically for Josh. Quote
Mat68 Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Wr is so deep this year in the draft I would go Dline and secondary. Need a saftey, Edge and both dt positions. Those are the priority. A compliment to Cook is available for not much ok. Those defenders should be 24-27. Need youth an potenial imo. 1 Quote
The Firebaugh Kid Posted March 9 Posted March 9 I’m hung up on receivers so my first choice would be Curtis Samuel. He ran a 4.31. 27 years old. Untapped potential. 1 Quote
CaptnCoke11 Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Noah Brown or Josh Reynolds would be nice along with a 1st or 2nd round pick WR. Would really elevate our WR group. Quote

Yep those are my two realistic FA WR adds, too. Who do you think pairs well with them from the draft? Quote

Josh Reynolds? The WR who dropped multiple passes in the NFC championship game? Noah Brown is intriguing but unless he wants a cheap contract I’d rather just draft a couple WRs in this loaded class Quote

DJ Chark They will need a vet 1T as well but I haven't really looked in depth at that market. Agree...give me Curl or Chinn @ safety and Mooney @ WR2. That probably all we can afford. Quote
sven233 Posted March 9 Posted March 9 (edited) C. Jones or C. Wilkins Trade for JJ Oh wait.....you probably mean something realistic..... Mooney Chinn D. Jones Edited March 9 by sven233 Quote
Mat68 Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Safety is pretty deep with younger guys. Mckinney, Chinn or Blackmon would work for me. Edge will get pricey. Huff, Armstong long-shot Young. DT prioritize 1 tech. Jones or Rankins. Quote

He can't make it through a season. I wait and see if he is available in December. Maybe we can get 2.5 months out of him when it counts. Quote

Give me Fletcher Cox if we're hellbent on 33 yr. olds. Quote

When Jones plays it frees up Oliver to be what he does best which is play one on one on a guard and make plays behind the line of scrimmage. Quote

MikePJ76 Posted March 9 Posted March 9 I can't imagine the team is really involved in any expensive free agents. They have a glaring need with a giant blinking red light on the defensive line and those can not be all filled in the draft. They basically have to sign a minimum of 2 free agents on the defensive line...tackle or end...they just have to. I would personally like to see them add another center/guard to the roster. I really hate the idea of mcgovern at center. Although safety also has a big red light flashing I bet they are not active there until after the draft. I would like them personally to commit to the running game even more and bring in a legitimate every down back to go with Cook. Not a yin and yang thing an every down back. They set the blueprint to build a top end running game last year and this year I hope they keep building on it. and finally of course it seems a mid level WR will be added also. Adding a wr now frees them up in the first round to take the best player that falls into their lap (which is what you should always do in the first 2 rounds) and will not force them to feel the need to move up for a wr. I am in love with the idea of Saquan Barkley in this office I just think he would create the most incredible mismatches. Those running plays where cook popped out of a hole last year and then it ended up being an 8 to 10 yard run might turn into 50 or 60 yard runs with Barkley's ability. I know there is no money for him and no chance of it happening but god he is perfect for this offense. A lineup with diggs, kincaid, shakir and barkley coupled with Allen would be a real stress to every defense. Barkley could take those dump offs, wheel routes and screens to the house from anywhere. Shakir and kincaid will demand coverage in the middle of the field and this would create all kinds of options for Diggs and whoever the new x wr is. anyway. Feels like free agency must result in at least 2 to 3 defensive lineman. Quote
