I thought this **** was calculated, and based on a formula or something, where it was a fact we were getting a third round pick. Does anyone ACTUALLY know how this works?

What a dumb system.

It's a formula that the NFL has kept secret, but there's been enough comp picks awarded that people have figured the formula out.

It's shocking to see a pick not awarded as expected. I can't remember the last time (ever?) this happened

Bengals fans are mad because they lost their starting safeties and only get two 6th round picks. I don’t know how much those two signed for in FA, but Beane was careful to navigate the cap to ensure we’d get a 3rd for Edmunds $18M/yr contract. He said he even spoke to people to make sure his signings weren’t jeopardizing that. Something does feel wrong here.

There is no set limit but there are parameters. I am pretty certain that has knocked us out.

This is false. The NFL awarded 9 third-round comp picks in 2022. https://www.nfl.com/news/nfl-awards-39-compensatory-2022-nfl-draft-picks-to-16-teams

There were 8 last year too. Maybe when we aim to get a 3rd next time we'll let a WR walk. Honestly, I won't be shocked if Gabe Davis nets us a fourth given that he plays a premium dollar position.

If we're going to reward teams for hiring coaches based on ___________    how about awarding teams who invested $$$$ to build a stadium.

WHAT A JOKE

The idea that the Bills were not awarded a third round pick based on the minority hiring situation is false. There were 7 third round comp picks handed out last year and 9 the year before.
