Issue on stoke was determined to not be heart clogged or problem with blood not getting to brain via neck which are most common causes. Stroke Doctor thinks it could be piece of plaque which broke off and went to brain or heart rhythm issue. Doctor recommended specialist insert device size of quarter to be implanted under skin (outpatient) and for five years monitor and transmit it to hospital where it will be monitored.

Glad they seem to have the cause figured out and have a viable solution. Continued good health and prosperity, my Bills brother.

Stroke specialist doctor who took 3+ months to get an appointment could not determine cause of massive stroke.  Heart and neck were eliminated and thinks it is a possibility of a heart rhythm issue.  He recommended I see a surgery specialist who recommended a loop recorder, a device to record heart rhythm,  be installed.  A day before operation insurance company insisted I try a temporary monitor which is glued to chest for a week first.  No additional information was found and after another two months a LINQ22 Medtronic insertable cardiac monitor was installed Monday.  This is a device installed under the skin between ribs done with local anesthesia.  This is most painful operation I have undergone and almost a week later chest still hurts from insertion.

I do not have a lot of confidence in this device for as often with doctors they are guessing rather than diagnosing what problems are.  After 7 months I finally have had tests which I should have had within one month of stroke and starting occupational therapy which despite name is not designed to return you to your occupation but help restore things which used to occupy your time.

sorry to hear about your ordeal! Hope you recover well and the monitor ends up working out.

7 months post transplant for me. Keep doing any exercises the OT or PT people sassigbed. I got the PT people to give me exercises after the transplant to help my back that I messed up taking care of my mom >3 years ago.  Still do them every day except when I had to wear a wound vac and after I had a car accident in August. Weaning myself off the cane. If I am grocery shopping. I'll use the motorized cart  to get around the entire store.  It's a slow but steady progress. Don't try to rush it. And the memory is just like another muscle. Keep exercising that too. Also keep good upbeat attutude. Every day since my stroke in 2014 is a bonus day and every day since this Valentine's Day is a double bonus.
