Probably not quick enough for this year but maybe next season. The last one at the Ralph. Maybe that’s what they are gearing up for. Go out with a bang in the old stadium. Dropping a banner in the new one on day one. 1 1 Quote

John from Riverside Posted March 7 Author Posted March 7 There are certain players that I was kind of hoping we could hang onto as bridges to draft picks this year like Poyer and Morse But I get it 1 Quote
Success Posted March 7 Posted March 7 Looking different is a big positive, imo. We need some kind of fresh start. 1 Quote

Success Posted March 7 Posted March 7 Just now, John from Riverside said: We had the number two seed in the playoffs this last year True. But I'm thinking more in terms of just needing some new energy. There is a hump out there that we have simply been unable to get over, regardless of seed or potential. And I've been vocal that injuries definitely set us back at the end of the season. But I love that we're going to have an infusion of youth and a bit of a makeover. 1 Quote
WhitewalkerInPhilly Posted March 7 Posted March 7 It's a brutal pruning. I can't say I think the choices are illogical but it was all of "break glass in case of emergency" options all at once. And then Beane got Miller to take a pay cut, void yeared Douglas (I think) Quote

There will be a bunch of new players, but the majority of our core group is still here. Edited March 7 by Mark Vader 2 Quote

I get the initial gut reaction from many but I think when you break it down- today wasn’t as noteworthy on the field as it was sentimental. The fan base is really holding onto “the guys that broke the curse” and a bunch left today. but several were already gone or holding on by a thread last year. And the only one at a premium position (tre) was already replaced last year 2 Quote

I don’t care if they go 17-0. Win the Lombardi or they’re just one of the other 31 teams who didn’t. Quote
