If it's $14.5M over three years and not for a single season, plus it's "up to" that number, I can live with it.  That's low-end starter money, but a bit high for a backup.

He is making under 5 mill per year. It's fine.

Agents typically pump out the high end ("up to")...I'd imagine it will be backup/3rd safety type money (dime)
