If Beane hits on 3-4 picks in this draft, we'll be as good as anyone in the AFC. The is resigned to McD not being the one sentiment. Only thing keeping us in pace is Josh… also the one covering up a ton of HC warts. On 3/6/2024 at 5:59 PM, billieve420 said: Yeah agree there were wasted chances but I am glad they are ripping off the band aid and re-tooling roster with younger players. Couldn't justify running it back with core group with team up against the salary cap. Re-tool, get younger and make another run. With Allen we will be competitive barring injury. You then roll the dice come playoff time and hope you get hot. W/O McD, I agree. we were the hottest team and missed our chance do to egregiously bad coaching decisions

So because we released a CB who hasn't been healthy or Elite for 3 years, a Safety who is clearly on the decline, a Special Teams Ace who is clearly on the decline, a WR/PR who never remotely lived up to his expectations or contract, a RB/PR who... same thing, and our starting Center who was still good, but old... our window is closed???? I think if anything this might show that Beane and McDermott are looking at this team and trying to ignite new life in it THIS year!!! Those 11 draft picks we have sure will help. Super Bowl!!!! Yes, Our first window is closed. McD should have been axed. Giving him another shot at this during Josh’s prime years is stupid.

It's simply the business of the NFL. Draft, sign, cut, trade REPEAT over and over again. every team does it. No one should be shocked by this. Root for the laundry people. Don't get overly attached to players. It's a Tough business with a Capital B this team is legit as long we we have #17. I'll save my freak out until its warranted. Acknowledging the first salvo of a rebuild and it signaling a closed window AND HC coaching malfeasance isn’t a freak out. WhitewalkerInPhilly
Well not it definitely has. Don't worry, I made it through the drought, I can survive a year or two of retooling. Midseason 2023 I was seriously considering a controlled demolition. I'm ok with giving Brady a year to show what he can do, trying out some young guys and then hitting the accelerator in 2025. But we better accept that.

I’d argue we missed quite a beat last year and we still ended up the 2 seed. Team isn’t going to be as talented as it was the last 3 or 4 years. Doesn’t mean we can’t be the last team standing and it doesn’t mean we are going to go 6-9.

I'm not saying it definitely means we're in trouble. Everything could still work out and we end up even better. Hell, even winning it all. But there's going to be a lot of new faces and faces in new places. It's going to be a very different starting 11 on both sides. To say that the lack of continuity is absolutely nothing to worry about and everything's going to be fine - that's no guarantee either. We're going into next season with just 1 WR with any sort of rapport with Josh. A reworked OL. A new backend to the Defense. Hoping for the best regardless. Josh could break an ankle and we could win 2 games. ultimately, outside of health, here’s what I believe. Sean McD can coach defense in the regular season. Despite probably being an older team with some new faces on the backend at safety, imo it’s practically a guarantee we are a top tenish d at least. Josh Allen is still far and away the best QB in the division and the second best in the conference/NFL. Combine a top 2 QB and a top 10 defense and that’s a playoff team just about every year. That’s as close to a guarantee as you can get.
Chaos
AFC East is weak. Josh Allen is great. Rest of the pieces will likely place the ceiling at winning the division and losing the divisional round playoff game.

The next day I was one who said it was a rebuild and McD needed to go also. Right, right and right!!! This coach absolutely squandered our best chance in decades , multiple seasons in a row. Now , here we are getting ready to rinse and repeat. Never fear, at the beginning of the new season , I’ll pour some more salt in the would and point out that we will never win it all with McD. Peace out till then, Boys and Girls✌️
