Low Positive Posted March 6 Posted March 6 I understand why they did it, but it's still sad to see him and Hyde go. This team, at least on the defensive side, is going to go through a pretty significant shift this offseason. 1 Quote
BuffaloRebound Posted March 6 Posted March 6 Probably too proud to take a paycut which I get, but our safeties lacked range and play making ability last year. 1 Quote

He almost signed there last year. Leslie Frazier works for the Seahawks now. They just released both their safeties. Hyde is a FA as well. 🤔🤔🤔 1 Quote
Alphadawg7 Posted March 6 Posted March 6 (edited) One of my favorites...this was no surprise though from a cap perspective. He didn't find the market he was looking for last offseason, wondering if he comes back again if the market is dry and plays another season on a cheaper deal. We need to draft safeties this year and get younger, but would be nice to have someone like Poyer here a season to help groom them. If he has officially played his last game though, then thanks for everything you gave Poyer, you were a true dawg out there week in and week out giving everything you got. Nephilim17 Posted March 6 Posted March 6 It's hard on a human level but if we want to be a Super Bowl team, moves like this need to be made. You can't hang onto an aging player for sentimental reasons. At least not when you're in a poor cap situation. Quote

Hyde & Poyer top that list. They helped give the Bills D a fierce identity, and were always a joy to watch. I wish both guys the best. They should be together on the Wall Quote
JohnBonhamRocks Posted March 6 Posted March 6 Does this rule out a return? Feel like it is similar to last offseason. Just hope he is not a Dolphin next season! Quote

Scott7975 Posted March 6 Posted March 6 I knew this day would happen eventually but I am still sad. Poyer and Hyde were dogs out there and gave it their all every game. Going to miss this duo. Some of my favorite Bills ever. Wish they could have gone to the show while they were here. Would have been amazing. 1 1 Quote

The draft is deep for wide receivers. As my grandma used to say, don’t count your chickens, sonny boy. Edited March 6 by Beast 1 Quote
BullBuchanan Posted March 6 Posted March 6 Best wishes Poyer. Probably the best safety the Bills had in my lifetime. This is why I never fault players for getting the absolute maximum they can from a team, including holding out. tHeY'rE uNdEr cOnTrAcT is only ever a 1 way line of thinking. Quote
davefan66 Posted March 6 Posted March 6 Poyer. Hyde. Neal. All gone. Gonna be an interesting offseason replacing our Dbacks. Quote
par73 Posted March 6 Posted March 6 So the Bills don't have any starting safeties. Hyde and Poyer will be really tough to replace-- although age and injuries have taken their toll. Quote

RyanC883 Posted March 6 Posted March 6 highly underrated safety league wide. One of the best in the past decade. Thanks, Jordan. Feel free to come back if no one else picks you up! Quote
