$7.5 mill saved with the release.   Still,  stings, but necessary.  Such a great part of the turnaround

Really? That's his salary or we actually save $7.5M in cap space this year? If it's cap savings then yes this has to be done.

Expand

His salary is $7.7m, savings are $5.7m.

$2m dead cap.

Like, come on, man.......Poyer was good, but he was no legend.

Watching Bruce Smith, Andre Reed and Thurman Thomas go to other teams was watching legends leave.

I can see them having a discussion before telling him why they are going to cut him and let him test free agency and then if he isn't happy with the offers he receives, we would sign him back and structure it to be cap friendly.

Just my opinion and maybe my hope

Great player and career here.

While the Bills may not be done, I thought Tre would be gone before Poyer. Letting Tre goes is $6.5m net cap savings, not to mention his injuries

Sad to see him go, always gave his best. Even though we lost, I still remember Poyer punching the ball out on the Chiefs by which the ball went in the endzone (saved a Touchdown).

Not only a great player and representative of the Bills in every interview, he was also an inspiration for millions with how he put his addiction and sobriety into the public eye.  A baller and a gentleman at the same time.  Awesome run.

Tough to see him go, dude gave it all.

On the field and off. When his doctor didn't clear him to fly (something about air pressure) but cleared him to play, JPo loaded his family into a camper van, hired a driver, and made it to KC to play in the game.

That's dedication.

How did Harty survive longer than Poyer? Don't understand why he's still here. He should be next.

Maybe cause Hines is gone as KR. But yeah Harty isn't worth the money

One of the OGs of the McDermott Era, been here since 2017. It's a bummer but it's the right move. Maybe he comes back this summer, who knows.

It's weird to think the secondary could be without Poyer as well as Hyde and White this season. That'd leave Dawkins and Milano as the only two players on the team since 2017.

Cmon, just stop.

1. Beane is too smart to draft safety in the first in general.

2. There isn't one close to be worth it this year.

3. We are drafting WR in the first this year almost no matter what.

Don’t be so sure. We have two gaping holes at safety. A first round safety would not shock me one bit.
