HOUSE Posted March 6 Posted March 6 Is this guy going to run out of the locker room and disappear on the last game? No thanks Quote
Ethan in Cleveland Posted March 6 Posted March 6 Nope. They need to get younger on defense I'd be fine with a middle of the road safety in FA like Poyer and Hyde when they signed them. Then draft a mid-round pick to develop. 1 Quote

I had failed high-pedigree guys like CJ Henderson and Kristian Fulton on my short list for that. Young guys who were highly touted corners and for whatever reason it just hasn't worked out should maybe consider a move to safety. Quote
Success Posted March 6 Posted March 6 The coaching staff is probably best at developing players at CB and Safety. I'm w/ the posters who advocate going w/ more youth on this one. Quote
SCBills Posted March 6 Posted March 6 Safety is going to be interesting because.. yea, we need to get younger there. Also, these free agent Safeties have zero negotiating power. If you want a solid vet for cheap... you're going to get a solid vet for cheap. 1 Quote

fergie's ire Posted March 6 Posted March 6 Particularly at a position like safety, I don't think an old name player is the way to go. Ideally can find someone the way they found Poyer and Hyde. Find players who have flashed talent but haven't had an opportunity for whatever reason. Quote
dpberr Posted March 6 Posted March 6 There is a burgeoning free agency period in November where old vets sign on with teams for a playoff run. Diggs will be one of these players. Unless you're a team that doesn't care about the 2024 season, you aren't giving starter minutes to a 32-year old safety. Quote
Freddie's Dead Posted March 6 Posted March 6 (edited) Is this a Williams thing? We gotta be stocking up on players named Diggs now? Edited March 6 by Freddie's Dead Quote

Rigotz Posted March 6 Posted March 6 For $3M 1yr as solid depth and a vet to help our draft pick Safety develop better? Yeah, sure. Go get him if you can. Quote
