Pretty bad is a bit of an understatement the number of picks and cap hit they've taken from this whole thing probably put it as a contender for worst one of all time.

The trade led to three Cowboys Super Bowl Titles: 92, 93 and 95. That trade was before the cap.

He's still a very good QB. Problem is, he is a locker room cancer.

One day all the true stories will come out.

I am not sure he is a very good Quarterback. He was the worst starter in football in 2022. He was slightly better in 2023 but still bottom 3rd.

But you are right about the locker room stuff. Some of what I have heard about Seattle was truly unbelievable. And you just have to hear how the guys off that team talk about him. Normally players will go to bat for a QB who helped them get a ring, however, with that squad their defense of Russ is always flimsy and conditional. Which makes the think I should believe the unbelievable.

His cap hit is 85 MILLION

Even so, if you are Denver, better to take the cap pain now rather than suffer through another year of the anti-leader and mediocre player that is Russel Wilson.   They need to start building their team.

They said he acted like he was running for political office and not trying to be the leader of a team. I don't think he's a jerk I just don't think he fit in with the locker room culture

That doesn't even scratch the surface. Trust me.

Largest dead cap hits in NFL history:
Russell Wilson ($85M)
Matt Ryan ($40.53M)
Aaron Rodgers ($40.31M)
Carson Wentz ($33.8M)
Russell Wilson, again ($26M)

Teams have eaten $111M in the last 3 years to NOT  have Russell Wilson in their locker room.

Looking around the league, it is REALLY hard to find a team that makes a lot of sense from the stand point of being an NFL starter.

From a team need perspective, Steelers are the only one I can look at and Wilson likely makes that team better on the field, and that is more about how bad the Steeler QB's are than it is about how good Wilson is today.   With the defense and run game, Wilson doesn't have to carry the offense kind of like the early days in Seattle when they went to back to back SB's winning one.

However, from a culture stand point, Steelers feel like a bad fit and I have a hard time seeing Pittsburgh being interested.

So I don't know where he goes and gets a chance to start other than to say keep the seat warm for a rookie.  And you got to imagine teams are going to be concerned after the Broncos said they would rather have an $85M dead cap hit than see him QB another game for them.  I mean, thats a pretty huge statement and from a team that has Sean Payton as an offensive HC.

He’s on a plane to NE as we speak…

I thought this as well. They have a ton of cap space and can afford to over pay him, at least a little, not give him what Denver gave him. He could be a good bridge qb for them

Imagine LV and he picks apart the Broncos twice next year.

I think that would be the automatic spite move.

You walk right into Adams as a #1 and you can hold off on the qb search for a couple years.

I think Payton as HC hindered them more than anything

But I think ATL would be crazy not to make an offer and I think they'll be the top suitor

But I thought it would be impossible to release Miller 😂

I’d wait until camp if we make that move. Releasing him and finding out later he’s “still got it” would be horrendous.

True, might as well wait and see, just go post June 1 if he’s still less valuable on the field than he is being off it.

So wild to me that they are still on the hook for something in the ballpark of $30m this year… Dude absolutely made out.
