Honestly I’d see if they’ll give us a 7th. They could

With the roster as it is right now, Hamlin would only have to beat out converted CB Cam Jordan to be starting.  I think we all love his story and what a good guy he is, but I think it’s a problem if he is starting.

I wish him all the best.

But I do have to say after the way this team, and this community, rallied around him both emotionally and financially, it seems a little...ungrateful? (Unless there was more to the comment that I have not seen.)

I’m not gonna lose sleep over it, but that’s a pretty tone deaf comment from Hamlin. Kinda disappointed. He should not be saying that out loud. Buffalo bled for this guy last year and to say it’s a “dream” to play somewhere else?  Yeesh.

Also…we can’t be two faced here (but we will).  DIGGS says anything outside of “I want to be in Buffalo forever, this place is better than utopia”…if he even HINTS one day he will be somewhere else…and people lose their minds.   But Hamlin outright says he wants to play somewhere else and it’s “no big deal” and “understandable?” Can’t have it both ways, folks.

JFC. Kid grew up down the street from their stadium, attended games throughout his childhood, went to training camps @ St. Vincent, played collegiately in the same stadium and has personal relationships with staff and players on that team…

I’m shocked at how many fans are excusing this.

You are a highly paid Bills player. You don’t say this publicly when you’re under contract.

Something tells me none of you would be okay with it if it was Josh Allen talking about how it would be a dream to play for New England (he grew up a Patriots fan).

That being said, I don’t really care about Hamlin being on this team, so whatever. But the comment is totally tone deaf.

Each to their own. After almost dying on a football field I would think people would understand that it’s just a game at the end of the day…

You make it sound akin to betrayal. It’s not. If Josh says he a Pats fan but puts it all on the line every game, which he does, I couldn’t care less about something as frivolous as which team they support from an individual and personal standpoint.

To my opening verbiage… To each their own.

But it’s not just a game. Players are employees of the team.

Just because their job is a game doesn’t mean it’s any less of a job.

If an executive at Wegmans was publically talking about how much he wanted to be at Tops, he wouldn’t be around for wrong.

I get why he’d say this given his relationship to Pitt, but what a weird thing to say when he’s under contract with Buffalo next year.

Maybe he knows he’s not long for the roster?

Agree it's weird at face value (just reading a tweet).

But he was asked by a kid at a local community event in Pittsburgh, about playing for the Steelers.  So sort of a leading question and Hamlin didn't want to disappoint the kid.  Tough situation/response either way.

Ahh… that context does make things a bit more gray.

I’d still be pissed if Josh said it though 😂

You T alk about tone deaf comments… This is exactly that. After your previous ones regarding the subject there is no “gray area”.

You don’t seem to know what tone deaf means, because nothing I said was tone deaf.

What you seem to mean is “how dare you change the spectrum of your thoughts in any way when more detail becomes available?”. Which is weird.

The context makes it more grey because he may have been attempting to make a child smile. That being said, I stand by my previous comments. It’s a stupid thing to say that it’s a dream to be employed by a competing business when your current business is still writing your paychecks.

Not at all. It was tone deaf after you were adamant he shouldn’t ever be saying such things, but then change the tune when there’s context you agree with…

Stupid to say that he wants to play for a team he grew up rooting for? I’d argue it’s stupid to even care or be concerned over it.
