So sad. Negligent parents.

(Parent) “I’ll never understand why this happened”. How about a sledgehammer to the head you idiot??

😔😟... That's what got me the most, their incredible response!

Pit Bulls are not the problem, bad owners are the issue, so if you have them you must train them well. They are intelligent but very aggressive and capable if they feel their people are threatened. Owners must train well, I am not willing to be that owner and therefore don't have one.

You don't believe there's like a "genetic code."  I read one of the comments on that NYPost article I revived this thread with.  One said, they knew someone who startled a dog while it was sleeping next to them it attacked & bit their face off.  Maybe FakeNews?

If they are coded like that, can they truly be trained out of it??

I do mean it when I say you must train them, they are aggressive by nature. but any dog startled out of sleep can be aggressive, including my own and they are docile at basically all other times.

Let me guess. You have a pit bull mix and it’s just a big teddy Bear??

I play a game with my pitbulls where I'm Dion Dawkins and they are pass rushers.  I get on my knees, put a treat between my legs and they go after it....I pass protect.

I have been doing this with them for 5+ years and they are playful the whole time.  It's their favorite game.  My son plays the game with them and they hold back more against him....he's 10.

Mother and son sentenced to prison time in Ohio fatal dog attack case

Quote

Pickaway County Common Pleas Court Judge Matthew Chafin sentenced a mother and son to 14 to 19 and a half years in prison after their two pit bulls killed their 73-year-old neighbor. "I wish I could give you more," Chafin told Susan and Adam Withers. The Witherses could apply for judicial release after a decade. Chafin recommended that they never be allowed to own pets when they get out.

...

Echelbarger had been working in a garden plot on a patio between her condo and the Withers' condo in October 2024. Her 84-year-old husband, Stanley Echelbarger, who suffered from dementia and Parkinson's disease, witnessed the mauling from the screened-in porch.
