Countries across the globe are experiencing a birth rate crisis, and we are going to be no exception. If we want to compete with China and India, we need immigration to fill jobs. The current immigration system is a completely broken joke. I welcome migrants seeking a better life in a country with inclusive economic institutions, no cartel violence, no AMLO, and so forth. 22 minutes ago, Doc said: I can "seek a better life" by trying to rob someone... So your belief is that everyone is equal, regardless of education, work ethic, or criminal intent? Got it. If you don't believe that you really need to look at how you express yourself. Also the proper way to address your point is to encourage Americans to have kids through tax incentives, not spend the money on illegals. If you believe birth rate is an actual issue your solution is the most illogical, expensive and bureaucratic way to solve it

If you believe birth rate is an actual issue your solution is the most illogical, expensive and bureaucratic way to solve it I don't believe in egalitarianism, if that's what you're asking. I believe in equal opportunity and that America is one of the best places for it. I like John Rawls' philosophy on this. I am all for tax incentives such as the enhanced Child Tax Credit that Republicans viciously oppose. Yes, birth rate declining is going to be a significant issue over the next few decades as older workers retire with no one to replace them. https://www.unfpa.org/swp2023/too-few#:~:text=Worldwide%2C fertility has fallen from, births per woman by 2050.

Nothing you are discussing is all related to where our world is today, the impact of an over abundance of low education people on our population. The jobs these people could fill based on skills and education are not the ones we have to worry about filling. The jobs they can't do are the ones we need to get people from other countries for but we stop them and let in the wrong ones. Not one of these jobs will be filled by 99% of the people coming here illegally 1 1 1

You offer a lot of leftist platitudes and all the nonsense that comes with it but no actual substance. Who is the American dream for? What is “America?” Your answer to the first question seem to indicate that your answer to the second isn’t anywhere close to an actual nation. Which is why your opinion should be cast aside.

Tenhigh Posted February 25 Posted February 25 I am very much in favor of increasing legal immigration into this country by triple it's current rate. I am also in favor of securing our borders. Why can't we have both? 1
