Gregg Posted February 20 Posted February 20 Figured the Bucs would sign him after the season he had. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/buccaneers-allow-baker-mayfield-to-become-free-agent/ar-BB1izJhL?ocid=entnewsntp&pc=DCTS&cvid=970c0c618f984f76b838bb46b4c63b89&ei=12 1 Quote
Man with No Name Posted February 20 Posted February 20 Probably trying to get away with paying him nothing. He probably wants wants a Daniel Jones contract. And why wouldn't we? he is definitely the better player. but not every franchise is gonna be a sucker like the giants. Somebody like baker worth 30 million imo. Daniel Jones 20-25. 2 Quote
DCOrange Posted February 20 Posted February 20 Seems like a fairly smart gamble. I’m guessing they want to reserve the tag for Winfield if needed. 3 1 Quote
BuffaloBillyG Posted February 20 Posted February 20 I think it's a pretty smart move. They know Baker would like to end up back in Tampa. I think they get something worked out just before FA opens. 5 Quote
colin Posted February 20 Posted February 20 i don't know what should work out price wise, but if he was the qb for sf, they beat kc in the bowl. 1 1 2 3 3 Quote

Ridgewaycynic2013 Posted February 20 Posted February 20 'Baker Bucks' is more appropriate and sounds better than 'Danny Dimes'. * 🤔 2 1 Quote

He'll lap that up. 😁 2 Quote

Guy looked pretty competent and played very well last season. That could be a flash in the pan year but he’s certainly shown the substance to be a starter in this league. A competent one who can win games at that. Feel there will be several teams reaching out to his agent for his services, those two you mentioned would have to be included. 3 2 Quote
H2o Posted February 20 Posted February 20 I can see the Raiders going after Baker and giving him a middle of the road contract. 2 year deal in the $60M range. Their QB is Aidan O'Connell right now. He's also better than the soon-to-be-released Garoppolo. 2 Quote

Besides the heavy lift of getting Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson, he would have to get Kyle Lauetta, Luke Falk, and Tanner Lee out of retirement. Then there is Danny Etling, who is in the UFL, and Alex McGough and Logan Whiteside who are on the Packers' and Falcons' practice squads, respectively. That leaves good 'ole Mason Rudolph. Quote

They lost to Zach Wilson and Mac Jones. I would prefer that he doesn't go to the Pats or Jets. He is an upgrade over what they had at QB. 1 2 Quote

Probably right but Purdy didn’t play bad in that game and certainly wasn’t the reason they blew that game and came out the losing side. Don’t think they move on from him TBH. He’s a team favorite and is a vastly cheaper alternative, something SF desperately have to keep under center if they’re going to make a run at it again with the contracts on that team. Losing Greenlaw and not having Hufunga back there hurt them. 1 Quote
GunnerBill Posted February 20 Posted February 20 They will re-sign him before the league year opens. Not franchising him does not mean he will hit FA. 3 1 5 Quote
Sweats Posted February 20 Posted February 20 If Baker hits FA, i could see him going with the Raiders or the Pats......just my opinion. 1 1 Quote
