IMHO Gabe is the most overrated Bills player in my lifetime. He is a practice squad WR who benefited from having a once-in-a-generation talent at QB, making him look spectacular in one-hit-wonder type season. Remember how many no-name receivers Brady turned into all-pros?

Gabe will probably be out of the league in two seasons.

And before I get told he is a great run-blocker, I don't care. Hands of stone and runs routes like he's in sand.

Mixed feelings. I really want to love Gabe Davis. He’s so frustrating. His ankles get banged up every season early and he isn’t the same player the rest of the year.

Fantastic blocker and work ethic. Has obviously made huge plays.

For whatever reason(s) him and Josh have gone backwards with chemistry.  The connection is gone. Minnesota OT game, Jets game late, Eagles OT game, etc. There’s always a miscommunication between them.

He’s had a handful of games with 0 receptions.  He’s dropped a few critical balls in the past few seasons.  The ball is turned over wayyy too much when he is targeted.

I think it’s a combination of him not being utilized properly by the staff and his game

I am NOT looking forward to him going to KC and putting up 1300 and 13 TDs. Because I could totally see it happening. A fresh start for him and chemistry with Mahomes would be a nightmare

Agent probably helped with the video to get a specific message to certain teams he is targeting.

There were games where he was not intended as receiver so zero counts do not bother me.

There were games where he did every offense snap in a game so it was not as if it was unexpected.

I will admit to not having  the most objective eye when it comes to Bills players. I want them all to succeed especially while here. But moving forward too

this does read like a swan song move to me also. Show him the money. What the market will bear that is where he will end up playing.

It's a business. I tell myself this endlessly

I end up just rooting for the laundry.  It is what it is.

One of my favorite Bills ever.

You either get it or you don’t.  Best type of ability is availability and he played, did the dirty work, and was on the receiving end of my favorite Jim Nantz calls of all time.

That doesn’t mean I’m not disappointed in how 2023 played out because I am.  But I’m blaming the Dorsey scheme and subsequent difficulties of adjusting on the fly - oh and he may have been battling the ankle for a few years now.

I love the guy for the reasons you stated, but he's done here.  It ended on MNF against Denver with the drop.  I wish him luck wherever he goes--except against us--and I hope he gets paid and has a great career.  But I think both sides here need to move on.

He’s just a modern day Sammy Watkins. Move on.

I'm going to go with Bob Woods on this one, although I acknowledge that they are different types of receivers.  Nice player, might have a nice season somewhere else, always willing to do dirty work.  But as a WR, just sort of slightly above average, in a different way from Woods.  No shame in that, but he shouldn't get big bucks here.

I hate how things unfolded at the Chiefs game, fans screaming and cursing at Gabe. Absolutely ridiculous. Still, let him go get his "bag" elsewhere. Wish him the best, but this is going to be a mutual parting of ways and one I won't wish things were otherwise at any point.

I don't even know what this means as Watkins was a 1st round pick expected to be an elite #1 WR we gave up a future 1st round pick for while Davis was a steal in the 4th round.  I just wish we didn't try and put him into a bigger role once Brown and Sanders left.

The shameful part is that he's going to go to another franchise and be a major contributor. I think Gabe has alot of potential and we never really tapped into all of it here. He had flashes of brilliance here and there, but wayyyyyyyyy too sporadic to ever pay him top dollar. I'm sure a different team will groom him into a solid #2.

I saw this on Gabe’s Instagram tonight, but then found someone who posted to Twitter too, so posting both links in case it’s easier for someone to watch one over the other.

Kind of looks like he is putting this out to both highlight his time here and promote his accomplishments ahead of Free Agency.  Smart move.

Even though I’ve been in the camp to let him go and draft a WR this year, this was still a fun watch and he has brought some big moments and games to his time in Buffalo.  He makes a good case for himself at the end with the stats and rankings combined with the low targets compared to others.

Overall this is a great piece for himself ahead of free agency and so enjoyed it and I wish him well.

Thank you for what memories? The downfield blocking? The "positive locker room presence"? How earnestly he ran a limited route tree and get an inch of separation?

Nice fellow, wish him well. Also wish we had never drafted him.

See Gabe going to Cleveland or NY Giants. Yea, purely because of the Daboll and Dorsey ties but both need WRs badly and have decent room to play in the cap space.

Those are 2 places I see with Jacksonville being a possibility with the Chad Hall connection. They are also expected to lose Ridley and Chark and will be in need of WRs

The man was given infinite opportunity with an elite quarterback. I’m not sure what opportunity we didn’t afford him to reach his potential

I would add the Jets. They know him and what he can do.  With the exception of GW who do they really have at WR.

Yes, but hasn't he put out stuff in the offseason like this before? He is working his butt off etc.  But the thing is that he, like many athletes, can work all he wants, but the consistency isn't there.  He hasn't proven on the field he is a RELIABLE #2.  We need someone who has a much better catch rate and runs a much broader route Tree for #2.  Our #2 has to be someone a DC has to at least account for, and unfortunately Davis hasn't been that.

I appreciate the effort he put in here, but he just isn't the answer, esp. for what he can depend on the market. I am betting he ends up with the Redskins ( I refuse to call them whatever it is they name themselves these days)  I wish him the best of luck.

Thank you Gabe!  Lots of great, huge memorable moments.  Too bad we couldn't cash in that incredible game against the Chiefs with something even bigger.

With that said, we aren't in a cap situation to be able to afford what he will get in the open market which will be north of $10M+ a year, plus I also don't believe he is the kind of guy the Bills need right now.

I could honestly see him going to the Jets, the Pats or KC.....you heard it here first, folks.

NE sucks but has cap room. Jets don't have a lot, but KC does.  I see him going to where the money is the greatest and that is not going to be KC, they don't overpay for WRs and have great scouting.  I think Washington, as they need talent badly, and will overpay since they have tons of cap room
