A combo of Coaching, injuries and lack of consistent productivity.  All the picks on the DL, and not a true Alpha stud among them.  Oliver is very good, but the rest, including FA's haven't produced.

Because they didn’t beat the chiefs, chiefs, bengals, and chiefs.

sitting on one aggregate stat and crying over it is, dont want to be too insulting, but it’s pathetic.

beating the piss outta various bad (and sometimes good!) teams during the regular season over the past 3 seasons doesn’t mean anything as far as winning championships.

We’ve invested heavily in defense with a great QB who can put up a lot of points. I attribute the point deferential to feasting on bad teams. This defense can totally shut down mediocre QB’s, but that doesn’t happen against the great QB’s. The playoffs become an offensive battle that we continue to fall slightly short in.

A fair bit of what you say is valid, one could say that we have not had all the needed pieces on offense present at the same time, while using to much of our resources on a defense that has annually failed in clutch moments during the regular and especially the post season. In a nutshell, more resources to the offensive side and a modification of defensive scheme,  so that opponents don’t get a constant free release off the line of scrimmage and can’t so easily march down the field and score the winning field goal or touchdown, I could go on but I think everyone gets the point, 😂

The Chiefs have another gear we were unable to match with a crippled roster.

EDIT: We are not alone in struggling vs the Chiefs in the playoffs. We are not some kind of singular failure.

Coaching didn't make us be missing half our defensive starters for any given game.

Coaching did hurt a little playing man coverage 10 yards deep on 3rd and 4 against the Bengals, but he's gone now.

Those are all factors, especially all the defensive injuries this year, but the #1 factor is this:

Mahomes and the Chiefs. The only other team to knock us out caught us when absolutely emotionally deadened by the Hamlin thing, Knox's brother's death, the supermarket shooting, and on and on.

Mahomes and the Chiefs were fractionally better all three times, just barely eking past us.

The new joy we had this year was we lost a few games to teams we should have curb stomped. Being a Bills fan sometimes is just

Super Duper.

Also, the close calls against the Bucs and Giants. I know we won those games but in some ways, it felt like a loss.

This has been hashed and rehashed in countless threads since we were eliminated. In the end it came down to the same fatal flaw that doomed the 49ers on Sunday. You simply cannot give the ball back to Mahomes when he knows what he needs to win the game. The 49ers shouldn’t have kicked the field goal and neither should’ve the Bills attempted one. But sadly….we never seem to learn.

Most games are won/lost by a handful of plays. Sometimes you can blame coaches on them (see McDermott/Smiley call on Hamlin punt runyet all that did was cost us was field position and however long the Chiefs had the ball before the Hardman fumble) and others you can't (see Josh's failure to hit Shakir/Diggs on 2nd down and whomever missed on 3rd down and Bass' missed field goal. To say we were outcoached puts no onus on the players which is just not fair to our coaching staff. Why is it when Patrick Mahomes struggled this season it was because he had bad WRs? Yet when we struggle it's lack of good players and good coaching? The reason so many are blaming Josh for not getting it to Diggs on 2nd down was because that was his decision, our coaches schemed Diggs open and at the end of the day our QB elected to go elsewhere unlike he did most of the day. As most of the day he took the open guy and allowed the offense to milk the clock. To blame it simply on the coaches is lazy.

You don't win Super Bowl's with point differential.  You win Super Bowl's by winning a number of individual games by any amount of points.  There are a lot of numbers that show the Bills have been very dominant over the last 4 years.  Point differential is one, Offensive and Defensive rankings are also at the top of the league which is unusual.   The team should have had more playoff success that is why everyone is frustrated.  Some are in the "they can do it in the regular season but not in the playoffs and that will never change until you fire everyone" camp.   It comes down to plays here and there in the playoffs.

Uhhhh… hellooooo! ✔️🍺

So many Bills fans here- no doubt because of the decade and a half of wandering around in the NFL wilderness, are more than content beating up the tomato cans of the Regular Season sked.

One of the most prominent and respected posters here, completely disagreed with me, by touting the Bills D as one of the superior ones in the league.

Indeed… against the stiffs and bums of the Regular Season!

I decided not to respond by pointing out the horrific collapses and simply horrifying, sieve like numbers of McDs Ds versus the Chiefs & Bungles in the Playoffs! Let alone, the scary Ws against the Sunday Beer League 3rd stringer of the Fish… in the snow… or the other backup this year from Pittsburgh!

These have NOT been Playoff… no SB Champion Ds, not by a long shot!

And there is a belief that that Albatross Miller, in his mid 30s, is finally going to be ACL resurrected.

I do not share that belief.

As well as Tre White. Great human being, very good D player when uninsured but he is- Achilles! Cannot be allowed to return. No chance he’ll be at his best.

The Bills need to upgrade asap.
