Is "isolationist" the latest focus group word?  Or does it have another meaning?  Because Trump wasn't one.

Anyone that might disagree with intervention without any clear and defined national interest while using reason or logic in evaluating the consistent failures of US interventionist policy is an isolationist.  The problem with the interventionists is they can't read the scorecard.  They've lost every game on their schedule.

"Trump had stoked the discussion earlier this month when he told a rally in Conway, S.C., that he would "encourage" Russia to do "whatever the hell they want" to any NATO country he regarded as delinquent in its payments to the alliance.

Disavowing mutual defense

Beyond misrepresenting the way NATO is financed, Trump was disavowing the central purpose of the mutual defense pact. Article 5 of the 1949 treatystates that an attack on one member will be considered an attack on all."

So yes, the latest focus group word.

no.  an apt word to describe trump's consistently negative (and getting worse)stance on NATO

If you mean he wants to isolate countries who don't pay their fair share into NATO...

Article 5 is a bedrock principle of NATO.  He wants to blow it up.  Make it meaningless.  Do you know the last time article 5 was used?  Hint: it was to protect the US.

Article 5 provides that if a NATO Ally is the victim of an armed attack, each and every other member of the Alliance will consider this act of violence as an armed attack against all members and will take the actions it deems necessary to assist the Ally attacked.

Trump is as bad at killing NATO as he was at leading an insurrection...

But he's a crafty fellow that made his fortune by understanding and using the systems currently in place that the leftists charge he wants to destroy as we watch them destroying our society and culture before he gets his chance.

nope.  He made it by fraud , lying and cheating which is why he's been indicted more than 90 times.  He doesn't "use" the system.  He breaks the rules consistently and then uses mobster tactics to avoid prosecution.  He also has been bankrupted multiple times despite inheriting a fortune.

Please respond to Stoltenbergs comment on the issue, or is he another Putin puppet too?

Who? Ah, the commander of NATO.  Name now known due to trump's comments.

So I think it's good more countries are going to ante up.  Threatening to destroy and disregard Article 5 is not the way to accomplish it.  And I'm confident trump will follow up on his threat.

NATO Chief Jens Stoltenberg. I believe he puts this false narrative (lie) to rest.
