Von will have a big year

Spencer Brown will become a premier RT

Taron Johnson is overrated

Our Offense would be better off if we found a way to trade Diggs

Agreed on ##2 and 4.  Hopeful on #1.  Disagree on #3.

Here's my unpopular opinions: Dawson Knox is wildly overrated, Gabe Davis sucks, and Kaiir Elam could be an important piece of the D next year.

EDIT: one more -

If we can get a 2024 #1 for Diggs, he should be out of here on the next flight.  Deep draft at WR, could even take two in the first round, and affords an excellent change to either trade way up (two 24 #1s plus a 25 #1 gets us pretty far up the board) or reload with some good, young, cheap talent in a year where the cap is an issue.

McD is a decent coach, but his attachment to defense really hurts us. We need to stop wasting first and second round draft picks on defense. Surround Josh with talent. The best way to beat KC is having the ball last and scoring a touchdown. We can draft defensive lineman every year, but it won’t make a difference. The 49ers have Nick Bosa, but he had zero impact when it actually mattered. One Bosa sack on the final OT drive might have won the Super Bowl for SF. The league no longer has players like LT or Ray Lewis on defense. This regime and many fans don’t get it.

It’s not what I want him to do. I want a wide receiver, but he might feel that it’s the prudent thing for him to do because we have so little of them under contract. And he might try to go for one in the second round.

This is what I'm fully expecting.

If you look back at Beane's drafting he often skips over the positions that are considered deeper in talent early. I believe he sees the idea of there being better value if they wait and get a talented guy in round 2 or 3. Wouldn't shock me at all to see him nab someone like T'Vondre Sweat if he's on the board round 1 and go WR in round 2.

That's an easy question.....

Sean McDermott has complete control over free agency and the draft. Beane is more of an administrator than a football man. McDermott is WAY underqualified to be in charge and this is evident by his screwy drafts picks and draft trades.

What McDermott DID excel at was selling Mr. Pegula a bill of goods, telling him about the "process," (Nick Saban was using this term when McDermott was going to his high school prom).

McDermott has a generational talent at QB and responds by not getting him enough weapons and focusing primarily on defense.

He needs to be fired.

Bills fans are hard on McDermott, Davis, Bass, etc., because they live vicariously through the Bills and they hate feeling like the almost-winners or losers they feel like they (not the Bills, they) might be.

1.  You will all eventually rue the Edmunds trade.

2.  You all already rue the day they assigned me a Two Bills Drive account.

The bills are a better team without diggs.

My unpopular opinion is James Cook is a good but not great back is better suited for a committee role. The drops, fumbles and lack of ability to pass block render him a not every down player in my book.  RB is a sneaky need this year and no, re-signing Johnson does not move the needle in the RB room.

Terry Pegula has made and will continue to make decisions aimed more at acquiring a new stadium and selling PSLs than on winning a championship.

Here's one - Terry Pegula split up One Sports becasue he is preparing to sell the Bills...

This would be a very good reason for my opinion.

A few:

  • McDermott is better than most you'll get around the league.
  • Josh shouldn't have even tried for the touchdown to Shakir, instead burn the clock.
  • Stefon Diggs is going to play out the next two years here.
  • Depending on circumstance, Von might be worth keeping around for 2025

They can save $19 million against the cap if they trade him post June 1. Of course, most decent free agents will be gone at that point but I'd still rather let beane have 19 million to play with, plus whatever draft capital we receive in return, than having diggs back on the team.
