BillsPride12 Posted February 7 Posted February 7 They were talking about the subject on WGR this morning since Del Reid of 26 shirts is getting to attend this year after winning Fan of the Year for the Bills. Just curious how many TBDer's have gotten to experience a Super Bowl? Feel free to share any cool stories or memories for those that have attended any Quote
DJB Posted February 7 Posted February 7 (edited) I sold my house so I can attend this years Super Bowl. Anyone have a couch I can crash on afterwards since I didn’t tell the wife? Edited February 7 by DJB 10 Quote
Augie Posted February 7 Posted February 7 (edited) We won a trip to the Bills vs Redskins in Minneapolis. My wife’s friends were in a Zonta Club and had a fundraiser selling raffle tickets. My wife bought some tickets from them, and when they showed up before my Rotary Club meeting to sell tickets I was told “you already have all the tickets you need.” Not an ideal approach to fundraising, but it let me off the hook so I was good with it. So we forget all about this until the phone rings one night. The friends are at a bar where they just had the drawing, drunk as hell and laughing their asses off. I have to believe it was totally rigged. The wife wanted to sell the package (airfare, hotel, game tickets, parties and ground transportation, etc.) to buy a dining room set, but that faded quickly. She knows me. We all know how that ended, but I’m glad I got to do a Super Bowl, even in single digit temps. I checked that off the bucket list and have no burning desire to attend one in person again…..especially somewhere so cold. Minneapolis is a great city with weather that only works for me in the summer. . Edited February 7 by Augie 1 4 Quote

CA Bills Fan Posted February 7 Posted February 7 Went to the Bills/Cowboys super bowl in Pasadena. Was seated in the Cowboys section and decided to leave a little early as it was a blowout. Ran into Ed McMahon (of Jonny Carson fame) and he shared some consoling words. Good dude but being a bills fan, nothing helps Quote
RoyBatty is alive Posted February 7 Posted February 7 (edited) Been to 5 super bowls , 4 in New Orleans (one 1 paid $80 cash (face value of $120) 25 minutes before kickoff, the others paid for by brokers) and I paid $400 to go to the Bills in Atlanta. That's the way to do it. Wait last minute and go for a team you don't care about if it's in an city you're in Quote
BananaB Posted February 7 Posted February 7 If the Browns ever make it my buddy is taking me, my brother and my dad…. Fingers crossed Quote

After two teams lost Saturday night almost half of the tickets will be up for sale. I saw U Conn and Butler for $15, Quote
zow2 Posted February 7 Posted February 7 Yes, the Bills first one in Tampa and the fourth one in Atlanta. 1 Quote
machine gun kelly Posted February 7 Posted February 7 Neva. The only reason I’d go is for the Bills and in the early 90’s, I was a working class guy. I can afford it now, but unless I know we’re there I would rather see from my couch. I don’t even go to parties anymore as I want to watch the game undisturbed. 2 Quote

I saw U Conn and Butler for $15, when you live in the right city you can do this easily. lviing in/near greensboro for the acc tourney i never took advantage of it - at least yet - but you can get acc tourney tickets for less than $30 even when it was like top of the era duke/unc Quote

I have a buddy who was a student at Tulane when one of the early SB’s happened there. He said they walked over as an afterthought and got in for like $5. My, how times have changed! 1 Quote
BullBuchanan Posted February 7 Posted February 7 Nah, and I wouldn't really want to either, except maybe once for the experience of it. I vastly prefer watching football on TV vs live if it's a game I care about. 2 Quote
GASabresIUFan Posted February 7 Posted February 7 I’ve been to one Super Bowl here in the Atl. Saw my Bills lose to the hated Boys and their awful fans. The swag was pretty good. The seat had a nice seat cushion, with a flash light and small radio with headphones. 1 Quote

T master Posted February 7 Posted February 7 Nope way to expensive for my wallet ! The SB has become like the games in the Roman Coliseum only for those that are higher up in politics or more money than they know what to do with it plus my seat in the living room is much more comfortable than the seats in any NFL stadium . 1 Quote
WotAGuy Posted February 7 Posted February 7 Atlanta. What a great experience. The bars were all Bills fans the couple nights before the game, until Cowboy fans showed up the night before the game. Had to scalp tickets to get in. We had booked the trip and tickets through Small World Travel and they couldn’t get the tickets for the game. This was a day before we departed so we decided to go down and try to get tickets once down there. The person from Small World escorting the group disappeared the first day and we all had to figure out how to manage the trip. When we got back, we filed a class action suit and won, but the agency went belly up before we got all our money. Even got interviewed on CNN getting off the plane in Buffalo. Overall an unforgettable experience. 4 2 Quote

I’ve got my SB seat cushions from Minneapolis in the man cave, along with a bunch of those old program covers that have been framed. It had a pocket full of “stuff”. .
