BuffaloBill Posted February 7 Posted February 7 Rex Ryan may return to the coaching ranks. If hired, he will make an interesting addition to Jerry’s world. https://nypost.com/2024/02/07/sports/rex-ryan-interviews-for-cowboys-defensive-coordinator-job/ No doubt that Dallas has talent on the roster already so not a rebuild. 1 1 4 Quote
Bruffalo Posted February 7 Posted February 7 As much of a joke as he was here, he's not a bad defensive mind. His problem was he tried way too hard to pivot away from Schwartz's defense without the right personnel 6 1 2 Quote
BADOLBILZ Posted February 7 Posted February 7 Do it Jerry. The entertainment value would be great. Meatball McCarthy and Rex. Could've been the HC matchup in SB XLV if the Jets didn't come out flat after the win in NE in the divisional round. 3 5 1 Quote
Big Turk Posted February 7 Posted February 7 Wrecks Ryan going to work on being the last one in and the first one out...but at least him and McCarthy could get some great BBQ together down there. 2 Quote
H2o Posted February 7 Posted February 7 I don't know if Rex's ego would allow this to work. His personality and McCarthy's just don't seem like they would mesh. Quote
mushypeaches Posted February 7 Posted February 7 This is freaking hilarious and only the Cowboys would even consider a sloppy, disorganized, lazy coach like Rex Like a guy who's been mailing it in on TV for the last 7 seasons, at 61 years of age, is all of a sudden gonna start putting in 18 hour days to run a defense? Let's go get a f***ing snack! 3 Quote
NeverOutNick Posted February 7 Posted February 7 Honestly Rex and the talent the cowboys have are a match made in heaven. Would be a great hire since he’s the D coordinator only and no chance as a head coach which he’s awful at Quote
BuffaloBillies Posted February 7 Posted February 7 They'll probably go undefeeted with him there. 4 2 Quote

Roundybout Posted February 7 Posted February 7 Glad he’s still dipping his toes in coaching. I wonder if he’s able to get his foot in the door, he’s been a bit of a heel on television. 4 1 Quote

Rex must be freaking out with the idea of coaching Micah Parsons. 1 Quote
Returntoglory Posted February 7 Posted February 7 Part of the NFL's diversity program I'm sure 😉 1 Quote
Fleezoid Posted February 7 Posted February 7 I hope it happens. Get those teeth off ESPN NFL Countdown. Quote

He would have to show he is willing to put in the long, hard hours again. 54 minutes ago, Mango said: I think his problem was that he just stopped trying at some point. I agree. He got lazy. 1 Quote
TheFunPolice Posted February 7 Posted February 7 he keeps interviewing and not getting hired (Denver just last year) so I doubt it happens. It's weird to me, because for some guys like Rex the "interview" is a formality. You either want him or you don't, so why bother if you aren't going to hire him? Quote
RobbRiddick Posted February 7 Posted February 7 Honestly, the feets that man will go to to stay relevant 2 Quote
BillsPride12 Posted February 7 Posted February 7 I hope this happens just so I can give my buddy who is a Cowboys fan some S*** about it! 2 Quote
