Coach Tuesday Posted February 3 Posted February 3 https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/michael-penix-jr-opts-not-to-play-in-senior-bowl The Senior Bowl’s practice sessions have relevance to the scouting of the assembled players. For some players, participating in the practices is enough. This year, plenty of players won’t be playing in the game. Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr. has decided not to play, we’re told, even though he was supposed to start for the National squad. Oregon quarterback Bo Nix will play only a couple of series. That leaves Notre Dame quarterback Sam Hartman to take the bulk of the snaps for the National team. Thoughts? 1 12 2 Quote

psuscott16 Posted February 3 Posted February 3 While pulling out is safer, there is still a chance the unthinkable happens and he gets hurt walking down the street or swimming up a stream. 4 Quote

Miyagi-Do Karate Posted February 3 Posted February 3 If you are going to the senior bowl and all the practices, you shouldn’t be able to opt out of the game. It should be a requirement for the invitation. 2 4 Quote

I suppose that makes sense, since the whole thing is to their advantage it would make sense they'd need to play in the game to pay back the opportunity given. Still the NFL could care less their focus is obviously on the practices which is why this problem occurs. Quote

FireChans Posted February 3 Posted February 3 The absolute best thing to happen to Sam Hartman probably. Sucks to not see all the guys play. Quote
