Although I saw a couple other people saying none of his vertical routes were catchable, so 🤷♂️ One of them he just dropped. Another was underthrown and the DB was able to outmuscle him for it. Other two were overthrows. He didn't look particularly explosive; he was able to get a step on the DB but wasn't really able to stack him. One of the overthrows I feel like he maybe should have been able to get to but was too busy trying to hold the DB and just didn't run hard enough. He had a drop in the 7 on 7's as well but also made a couple catches there. 1 Quote

Your reasoning is why WR's like DK and AJ lasted til the 2nd round. In a re-draft, both would be rd 1 picks. With that said, I love other guys too like Franklin, Tez Walker, and Mitchell I was admittedly low on AJ due to the fact that he didn't really run any routes in college. I don't think there's really a comparison between Legette and DK though. DK was an absolute god in terms of beating press coverage in college; the whole projection with him was the idea that you couldn't jam him at the line but also couldn't keep up with him if you gave him a free release. Legette struggles with press coverage and just isn't as explosive as DK. He's more Kenny Britt than DK IMO. Could still be good but I just don't think DK is the right comparison. It’s a double edged sword … if he looks like a polished future superstar then he moves up into the Top 20 out of the Bills range …. If he is going to be a “low floor high ceiling type” though … this is one year to count me out … Bring in the WR equivalent of Torrence … someone who may not be the most athletic freak at the position you have seen but can contribute and do a job as soon as he gets on the team …. Just bring in a guy that can run down the field and catch the ball….no one else seemingly could do that on the team the second half of the 2023 season .. Edited January 30 by Aussie Joe 3 Quote

HappyDays Posted January 30 Author Posted January 30 If Quinyon Mitchell builds on his performance today I think he could sneak into the top 12. 1 Quote

Yep, I agree which is why my comp is AJ Brown. DK was drafted later than he should have though because of doubts about his route running ability, was my only point about DK. "Weaknesses Should rely on footwork and body positioning over arm-extension to clear the top of his route Rushes through pattern ingredients rather than developing their flavors as a route chef Gears it down a little when turning to locate the deep ball Fails to sell route fakes to manipulate his opponent Breaks and stems aren't as sharp as they could be Had separate season-ending injuries in 2016 (foot) and 2018 (neck) Suffered focus drops when working back to the ball Drop rate too high over last two seasons Needs better positioning of his big frame to block out defenders on comebacks" So in the end, if I'm the Buffalo Bills and I'm looking for a WR2 legit, I take a small risk here for a big reward. On the contrary, if I am looking for a true out-the-gate #1 WR, I'd agree more with folks concerns here on Xavier. Now, if he doesn't show up all week here, then clearly he drops a rd. or 2. Quote

Admittedly, I didn't pay as much attention to AJ Brown. 1 Quote
TC in St. Louis Posted January 30 Posted January 30 I think we should consider Cody Schrader, RB from Missouri. He reminds me of Christian McCaffery. Quote
GunnerBill Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Just a reminder that my first mock last year I mocked Rashee Rice to the Bills in round 1 he had a tough Senior Bowl week and people were absolutely killing me for that pick. Looks a tad better now.... 1 1 1 Quote

Looks a tad better now.... I liked Rice too in the 2-3 round range. Decent size and weight, plus his SMU jersey made it very easy to see him as a Bill lol. KC made a good trade admittedly. Still has some growing to do but for a rookie he played very well. If we get a guy like that at 28 this year we would consider that a win for sure Quote

Dan in Owego Posted January 30 Posted January 30 (edited) Roman Wilson apparently was breaking ankles today, on top of his deep speed add another guy to my watch list. John Brown floor on this cat, we gotta walk outta this with 3 really good ones. ControllerOfPlanetX Posted January 31 Posted January 31 More importantly, what are their agents saying and to whom? Quote

Problem with him is he's likely slot only at the next level. Same with McConkey and Pearsall. Every year there are like 4-5 slot only WRs that fanbases fall in love with. It's a pretty easy position to fill with a small amount of effort. I'm good with Shakir manning that spot for the next two years, then rinse and repeat on day 3 of the draft. He can be a John Brown type on the outside i believe, chances are though he is gone by the time we come up in the second round. Quote
