bobobonators Posted January 29 Author Posted January 29 Some of the responses here are gold. Lol I’d say I have not heard the song at another NFL stadium (4 different stadiums) in the last 5yrs. I’ve heard it at some college football games. No baseball games. This is very important to me. This way next time someone asks me why the Bills play Seven Nation Army every game I’ll just continue to say I have no idea. “Good bass” 🤷🏻♂️😊 Quote

Mr. WEO Posted January 29 Posted January 29 man, I hope someone gets to the bottom of this pronto... ...before there is another thread asking the same thing 2 Quote

Brand J Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Does 7 Nation get royalties each and every time time it’s used? 2 Quote
GunnerBill Posted January 29 Posted January 29 I saw the White Stripes at Blackpool Winter Gardens. One of the best live gigs I have ever been to. Aso for the people who don't think it is a classic... well I'm gonna fight 'em off, a seven nation army couldn't hold me back! 1 1 1 Quote

Bob Jones Posted January 29 Posted January 29 (edited) 51 minutes ago, bobobonators said: Why do the Bills always play this song on gamedays? The song is 20yrs old and, as far as I’m aware, has zero relevance to Buffalo. In my opinion, playing this song comes off as tacky, outdated and simply put: embarrassing. 1. Why do we play this song? 2. Who is responsible for selecting the playlist on game days. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I'm 60+ and had never heard of this song til right now. Just went to YT to check it out, and it's pretty much garbage, IMO. They play THAT song at every Bills game?! Yeah, I'd question it too. Edited January 29 by Bob Jones 1 1 1 1 Quote
Gugny Posted January 29 Posted January 29 32 minutes ago, bobobonators said: How is it wild? It has to do with the game day experience. The song is not a classic and has no bearing to anything Buffalo, so why continue playing it every home game? Is the song deserving of being a Bills tradition on gameday? It’s a valid question in my opinion. No, they do not. Okay, Bob. I’ll rephrase. Very sporting event (baseball, football, hockey) that I’ve been to over the last decade or so has played that song. Why? It is familiar to most. It has a great beat. It is easy to clap to. It is simple. We’re not talking rocket surgery. 2 Quote

HomeskillitMoorman Posted January 29 Posted January 29 I agree, almost every team plays that song on kickoffs. We need to do our own thing. 1 Quote

I once went to the gym and did squats at midnight while listening to Iris on repeat. I was also 22 and sad about some girl, but whatever. And the Bills are constantly getting rejected by the Super Bowl, so it's fitting. Hey Long Way Down is kinda rockin. Kinda. If anyone remembers Twister lol. 1 Quote
akcash Posted January 29 Posted January 29 You know what’s funny I was thinking the same thing the other day about this. I’m thinking it’s because we are already trained as fans on this and it’s just easy and automatic to get the crowd going. i personally am not a huge fan of the song and it doesn’t really pump me up but i am there screaming the thing when i go. 1 Quote

Tommy Callahan Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Its a thing across the NFL and other leagues. What are we going to do, make a goo goo dolls song into a stadium chant? 1 Quote
HamSandwhich Posted January 29 Posted January 29 I’ve thought this for a while, it’s played out. I don’t really care all that much, but when I’ve heard it, the thought that it’s overplayed has crossed my mind. Thus it needs to go! 1 1 Quote
