You seem upset that the word is negatively impacting your side politically. How do you prefer the word be used? Do you have another word people can use for when companies like Gillette create commercials about fathers feeling pride when helping their once-daughter, now “son” learning to shave? A word for when Target advertises children’s pride clothing or “tuck-friendly” clothing? For when Bud Light decides to celebrate trans womanhood? Woke seems like a nice catch-all for such nonsense.

Where in my post do I seem upset. first off you do not know my political side, but I will tell you. I am neither republican nor democrat. I am independent. I do not get wrapped up in the crazed that politics brings because both sides, too far right and too far left are dumb and do not care about Americans best interest. I would like the word to stop being used as a whole, because again, it's being used incorrectly, and was never meant to be used on a political platform in anyway.

And please show me where has Gillette ever created and broadcasted this type of commercial and if they did...this country we all enjoy living in is "freedom of speech" freedom to express yourself. You have the freedom to voice your opinion as well as you have the freedom to turn the station,or not support "Gillette". But it's wired you being mad about it. And if there is a man in their own household, that makes an honest living and pays his taxes and his once-daughter is now a man and he is teaching him how to shave. What is that to you? Doesn't make him less of a man, a father or a true American or WOKE. I bet is doing more than a lot of "real -Americans" who don't know how to even be presence for their own kid. Male or Female.

As long as nobody is physically harming you or your family then does it really matter what other people or companies choose to do?? We are not their judge or jury.

As I figured......There is no meaning and when you are using it. You don't know what you are talking about. Just a "hot word" to use to align your agenda.

So, you weren't really looking for a definition.

You just wanted to spout off against the "right wing nuts"

Figures.

You started out whining about “Trump people” using the word woke. Now you are on to an excited defense of all the things people outside of your thinking see as “woke”. I am free not to give my business to companies that insult my sensibilities and so are you. I promise not to get upset if you decide not to go to a future Carrie Underwood concert.

Since you asked:

I support your right to buy all the Gillette products you want based on this brave and important stance. I hope you don’t mind that I chose a new razor company.

If you're worried about the term "Woke" being used "incorrectly" then you have a side. It was never "meant to be used" -- haha, it's part of the language, people will use the terms as they wish.

And if a father is teaching his 'once-daughter' how to shave, that sure IS Woke! You offer to pay for therapy, not give "shaving lessons" if you're non-woke.

The interesting thing is that pretty much everyone: Lib, middle of the road, conservative, knows what 'Woke' means when the term is used.

You may not LIKE that definition, but you know what's being referred to.

I was looking for a definition, what did those using the word really knew what the word really meant "woke" or are they using it for another reason.

and isn't that what you are doing? "spouting off against the "left wing nuts" ?

Keep defending the left-wing nuts. From your neutral position, of course!

So, if I'm "whining" about "trump people" and their views, then what is this thread and the comments supporting this thread doing about people who don't support Trump?

And thanks for the clip, never seen it before. And I never brought a product because of a commercial ad, never will. And I think I already stated you are free to conduct your business how you like, so we are in agreement about that, aren't we? I mean I did state you can switch the station if you don't like it.  I'm sure you don't care about my musical taste the same way I wouldn't care about yours, so no problem there.

The entire board is one side whining about the other. Sometimes it’s fun and sometimes it’s not. Your concerns about the way people use the word woke are kind of fun.

you stated earlier that you do not get your news from the Internet. Do you mind telling me what vehicle(s) you use to stay informed?

No, I am neutral. Because I chose today to challenge some right-wing ideology doesn't mean I am sticking up for the "left-wing "

I don't give a damn if a person wants a sex change, that is their business. Has nothing to do with me. I don't care if "bud lite" chooses to feature a transgender in one of their ads. Actors and actresses gotta work.  But I don't support a transgender switching sides in sports. That is not right.

You don't your kid to learn about Transgender people and see transgender puppets that's fine, there is a time and place when to expose kids to certain aspects of life. They are gonna learn about it at some point. Same with drugs.

So teach little kids that drugs are cool

Make sure to start that message young.  So it sticks.

So, what I am doing is ok, right? it's ok to come at stuff and see it from a different point of view right, or I can't do that? Again I did acknowledge both sides are crazy.

I said I do not look to the internet for my education. I pick up my knowledge in an arrange of ways.  The internet has it's uses but do not base my entire knowledge of things on it. Is that clearer?

You say this, as though you are unique in some way. You don’t think this is what everybody does?

Everyone does..I asked a question, and you decided to answer it back with "google it" and I replied back to you that I don't use the internet for everything. That's it no more no less. I never said you or anyone else inquire their knowledge different than I do.

To further what I am saying. I was looking to have a discussion. You wanted to reply the way you did, and I responded the way I did.

Joy is only saying that because she isn't a 10. Now or then.

I don't think Leavitt is a 10 either. She's easy on the eyes, for sure, but she's very sharp, which is more important.
